History of Bosnia and Herzegovina (1878–1918) → Bosnia and Herzegovina in Austria-Hungary – The reason for this is because this new title is more specific. There might be objections because until 1908, Bosnia and Herzegovina wasn't de iure part of Austria-Hungary, however, de facto it was part of Austria-Hungary and only formal annexation was made in 1908. Nevertheless, even in the time of occupation, it was in Austria-Hungary, only in different legal position. Wüstenfuchs 18:07, 2 January 2013 (UTC)

ref to Schachinger
editI've moved out this sentence:
- The resistance was ended in three weeks.[1]
- ^ Schachinger 1996, p. 2.
- Schachinger, Werner (1996). Bošnjaci dolaze: Elitne trupe u K. und K. armiji (in Croatian). Cambi. ISBN 9539671612.
{{cite book}}
: Invalid|ref=harv
(help)
- Schachinger, Werner (1996). Bošnjaci dolaze: Elitne trupe u K. und K. armiji (in Croatian). Cambi. ISBN 9539671612.
If it's talking about the entire occupation, it's inconsistent with others because it should be 3 months, not weeks. Either way it's a Croatian translation of what appears to be a German book:
- Schachinger, Werner (1989). Die Bosniaken kommen: Elitetruppe in der k.u.k. Armee, 1879-1918. L. Stocker. ISBN 978-3702005740.
It doesn't seem essential anyway. --Joy [shallot] (talk) 09:09, 29 August 2013 (UTC)
Re reversion of move from Condominium...
edit@AVNOJ1989: I've reverted your actions here and at the proposed target as an improper move -- it'll need to use WP:RM should it go forward. That said, the article appears to cover the thirty year period before the formal establishment of the Condominium post, which means that this is a better title regardless of any sock activity. In theory the Condominium article could cover only the 1908-WWI period and this article could more briefly summarise that article with a reference (see WP:SPINOUT), but there doesn't appear to be much of a win in that at the moment. ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 10:11, 21 July 2018 (UTC)
Name
editWouldn't it be better to rename this article to "Bosnia and Herzegovina (Austria-Hungary)" as the name of the subdivision was the same of the modern country, but the difference being that it was under the rule of Austria-Hungary. --Donald Trung (talk) 19:51, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
Name change
edit@Governor Sheng: Could you please provide some evidence that the term "Austrian-Hungarian" is more widely used than "Austro-Hungarian"? Since this is a descriptive title, this would apply to all uses of the terms, not just those pertaining to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Amanuensis Balkanicus (talk) 16:54, 26 June 2021 (UTC)
- It seems to me I was wrong. --Governor Sheng (talk) 17:00, 26 June 2021 (UTC)
- So would you be OK with me returning the previous title? Amanuensis Balkanicus (talk) 17:22, 26 June 2021 (UTC)
- @Governor Sheng: It's now been a few days and I've interpreted your response as meaning you have no problem with me restoring the previous title. Unfortunately, I typed "Austrio" instead of "Austro" when making the move, but I've submitted a request at uncontroversial moves and this should be fixed shortly. - Answer to your question – yes! I know it's a messy procedure. My mistake. --Governor Sheng (talk) 17:11, 30 June 2021 (UTC)

Contradictory Information?
editIn the first paragraph of the Ethnic Relations section, it says that "Between 1861 and 1869, Topal Osman Pasha, an Ottoman Grand vizier had striven to do the same". However, Topal Osman Pasha died in 1733, over a century before this. Because I cannot access the source, I cannot check whether the mistake is the date or the name. Could someone verify what the source says? Harry Hinderson (talk) 23:49, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
- It comes from this edit by the way https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Austro-Hungarian_rule_in_Bosnia_and_Herzegovina&diff=prev&oldid=530506398 if that helps. Harry Hinderson (talk) 23:52, 11 October 2023 (UTC)

- OK it seems like this was the real originator of the edit, and that was just a reversion of it being deleted Harry Hinderson (talk) 00:03, 12 October 2023 (UTC)

Austro-Hungarian rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina → Austro-Hungarian Bosnia and Herzegovina – WP:CONSISTENT with Ottoman Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ottoman Bulgaria, and Ottoman Greece. Note that the first article cited was previously Ottoman rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the second article has Ottoman rule in Bulgaria as a redirect, and the third has Ottoman rule in Greece as a redirect. While the empire in question differs, the situation and context is fairly similar, so readers could expect a similar titling style for this article as with the others I've mentioned. 122141510 (talk) 04:43, 24 July 2024 (UTC) — Relisting. - I've notified Wikipedia:WikiProject Bosnia and Herzegovina about this requested move. 122141510 (talk) 19:59, 26 July 2024 (UTC)
- Oppose. Austro-Hungarian rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina overlaps with Ottoman Bosnia and Herzegovina until 1908. Srnec (talk) 15:38, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
- I considered this but felt it would not automatically disqualify it from being treated consistently with the other articles mentioned. Ottoman rule of territories in the balkans was not continuous and often interrupted by uprisings, some of which held for years. I am not clear on the delineation between WP:CONSISTENT and WP:WHATABOUTX but it's my impression that there should be a commonality to the titling of these articles. 122141510 (talk) 16:25, 27 July 2024 (UTC)
