I heard on the radio it was about the lead singer's brother; anyone else hear this and have a source for that, or was the DJ making things up? Kuronue 13:58, 23 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

Ah, he must have had it mixed up, since he said it during the opening phrases of "How to save a life" that "this song is about the lead singer's brother". Ah well. I still <3 the song. Kuronue 00:47, 24 February 2007 (UTC)Reply

The PS3 Song

edit

There's a parody of this song on Youtube (as well as in other sites) titled "How to Kill a Brand" which pretty much bashes the PS3 console after it's launch. Does this deserve to be mentioned in the article? Vic729 13:30, October 23rd, 2007 (UTC)

Removing unsupported interpretations

edit

Removing unsupported interpretations is absurd as this is a song that is left completely open. Interpretations are true as long as someone believes them 71.202.240.68 (talk) 00:39, 6 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

If we listed every single peron's individual interpretation of this song, and others, the article would become enormous in length and would not be nice to read. Your interpretations are no more important than those of others and so they don't deserve to be there when other people's aren't. All that is irrelevant though, as what you have written has no source and is original research and no-one is going to let that stay in the article. asyndeton talk 01:37, 6 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

References

edit

Can the references 6, 7 and 8 be called that as they don't actually link anywhere? Londonsista (talk) 01:56, 23 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

7 and 8 are both some sort of reference as they cite a particular date for the peak position on the charts, even though they don't link to a source. Ref 6 isn't really a reference - it's a note - so the subheading could be changed to "notes and references". •97198 talk 11:56, 24 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:HTSAL Music Video.jpg

edit

Image:HTSAL Music Video.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Requested move 18 October 2015

edit
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: moved. The consensus is that the song is the primary topic. A strong case has been made that it meets the usage criterion and no comments about the long-term significance criterion have been made, possibly because all topics of this title appear to fall under the dreaded "pop culture". Unreal7, as the proposer of this move it will be appreciated if you go through the incoming links to this article to fix any that need updating. Jenks24 (talk) 10:08, 26 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

– Given the far greater chart success and sales figures of the song in comparison to the album (the album didn't even make the top 10 in their own country), I think this is a case similar to "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" and "Blurred Lines", whereby the song is more prominent and should be the primary topic. The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Greetings. I came across a Vine in which this song was featured. I added a short section about it. If you wish to change the citation, or remove the section entirely, feel free to. Intelleblue (talk) 01:41, 5 August 2016 (UTC)Reply
