editThis naming is completely unconventional and unprecedented as far as I can see. I'd suggest List of animals originating in Hungary or something. The current name just sounds wrong. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:42, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
Suggest conventional Fauna of Hungary per Category:Fauna by country. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 07:46, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
- You're certainly right that the name is unsuitable, but "Fauna of ..." would apply to the wildlife of Hungary. Nearly all the breeds in the list (ALL of them, if we kill the redlinks) are however domesticated, so I'd suggest something along the lines of Domesticated breeds from Hungary, Domesticated animal breeds of Hungary or whatever the appropriate naming style is. Chiswick Chap (talk) 08:07, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
- List of Hungarian animal breeds seems to be the usual format (see here; warning, link is slow to load). 24 of 25 country breed lists use this format (e.g. List of Chinese goat breeds, List of German chicken breeds). The one exception in the list articles is List of cattle breeds originating in Scotland, which follows the typical format for breed categories (e.g. Category:Animal breeds originating in Cyprus, Category:Horse breeds originating in Belgium).
- (e/c)Agree name is unsuitable. I also think this is a "List of..." article. There is already a well established List of mammals of Hungary which hardly mentions domesticated species. Perhaps the move should be to List of domesticated animals from Hungary. DrChrissy (talk) 14:38, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
- Well, that's three of us and we seem to agree, so I'll make the move now. Chiswick Chap (talk) 14:53, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
Thank you all! :) Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:46, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
And you know, it was like that for eleven years. Astonishing. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 22:34, 27 April 2016 (UTC)
- Actually, I think an article with this contents is superfluous. It is fully covered by the existing category Category:Animal breeds originating in Hungary. So my suggestion would be to remove this article and all other comparable articles as well. Dwergenpaartje (talk) 14:34, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
