This looks like it will need a big rewrite to remove the advertisement-like writing aspects and sprawling statistics, and more strongly demonstrate notability. --BlackTerror 14:07, 20 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Hunter Mountain logo.png

edit

Image:Hunter Mountain logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:38, 6 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

List of Trails

edit

I don't see the value of including the lengthy list of trails in the article. I moved it out of the article to this page. --EnOreg (talk) 18:24, 29 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Multiple issues

edit

Needs:

  • wp:references
  • section cohesion & restructuring.
  • debulleting per wikistyle
  • move extraneous tables into list article or eliminate per wp:not

At least one other editor complained about wp:spam, but I'm not seeing it. --Pgagnon999 (talk) 18:15, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hi Pgagnon999, thanks for the multiple-issues tag. That looks much better. On the advert problem please note BlackTerror's post above. Or as WP:Advert puts it: "Wikispam articles are usually noted for sales-oriented language (...)" Cheers, --EnOreg (talk) 21:57, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

It might help if you identify where in the article you see this kind of language. I'm quite anti-advert myself, but I'm not seeing it here; the article has been edited since the above comments were made.--Pgagnon999 (talk) 22:09, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I know--I did most of what's been improved in the meantime. But the article is still written in "sales-oriented language" (Hunter_Mountain_(ski_area)#History is written like an adventure story), it still features "sprawling statistics" (e.g., Hunter_Mountain_(ski_area)#Lifts) and it still has excessive detail that you would find in a marketing brochure but is not worthy of an encyclopedia (e.g., opening years of individual lifts, restaurants, and hotels). --EnOreg (talk) 09:19, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hmmm. . .I'm not detecting any elements of "adventure story" narrative in that section, but it could certainly stand some condensing and the sprawling stats need to go (a different issue: wp:not).--Pgagnon999 (talk) 13:17, 8 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

History section

edit

The last paragraph of the history section shows only very recent history (past 3-4 years.) Would it be wise to expand upon history past that small block of time or remove the recent history altogether? Sheahunter1 (talk) 19:50, 11 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
