Huynh's titles
editThis article previously stated that followers call him Phật Thầy (Buddha Master), but a cursory look on Hoa Hao websites in Vietnamese shows that this title is attributed to a past Buddhist master named Đoàn Minh Huyên instead. Đoàn Minh Huyên started the Bửu Sơn Kỳ Hương movement, which Huynh carried on through Hoa Hao Buddhism as far as I can tell, and in his own writings refers to Đoàn Minh Huyên as the Buddha, not himself. Further Hoa Hao websites in Vietnamese keep referring to Huynh as Đức Thầy or Đức Huỳnh Giáo Chủ. I have provided as good a translation of these phrases in the article as best I could, but I would appreciate someone making updates or improvements if possible.
I may still be wrong, but information on Hoa Hao Buddhism is so scant in English, and my Vietnamese is pretty poor. Hoping someone with better linguistic skills can correct me.
