Results and elimination

edit

I decided to revise the tables to be compact (to take up less space on the page), changed the colors, and made it a more organized feel. I made it to look like a nominations table in another reality show, Big Brother. I hope the change does well. If there is anything else needed to change on the table, feel free to say. --Dudejerome (talk) 04:48, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Team colors

edit

Under celebrity the teams color should be posted instead of if they were pink or blue in the competition. 66.231.36.147 (talk) 01:24, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Team colors were stated to be irrelevent. If they go back to original teams, then that should be reflected. Gage (talk) 01:33, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Oh, sorry about that 66.231.36.147 (talk) 01:36, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I added a small section to the beginning of the chart with the info. If a better way to show the info is found, then I'm all for it. Gage (talk) 01:41, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Trials

edit

They should listed as they occur on the show. Also revise the contestant box to have a small box for red/yellow and another box for blue/pink. --Cooly123 (talk) 13:41, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

What are you referring to when you say 'trials'? The eating challenge or the final immunity challenge? And I'm also not sure what you mean in reference to the red/yellow and blue/pink boxes, as that is already indicated. Gage (talk) 17:08, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Day

edit

It can be assured that today Tuesday June 2, 2009 would be day 4 in the jungle. The opening episode mentioned 48hrs ago, making yesterday June 1 day 3. This will affect the chart accordingly. --Cooly123 (talk) 17:42, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I was just thinking about that. I went ahead and made the change, based on that statement. Gage (talk) 19:01, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Based on this, the days should be adjusted according (there were 26 total days of competions even though the show didnt officially mention it)

--Cooly123 (talk) 19:57, 17 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Heidi and Spencer

edit

According to TMZ, Heidi and Spencer reportedly left the show after the live portion of last night's episode. I added this to the chart. If this changes then please revert my edit, but until then, please wait until the show tonight. Gage (talk) 19:19, 2 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Additional Tasks

edit

Should we add the additional tasks (the eating challenge and the leader challenge) to the list of Trials? To be fair I don't think they're trials... How does it work in other versions of the show's pages? Rafe34 (talk)

I would support adding it, as I'm pretty sure the UK version articles do have the eating challenges and stuff listed. Gage (talk) 00:11, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Last names

edit

Besides their first mentioning in the article (which would use their full first & last names), all people should be referred to be only their last names; not their first names. I made the change, and it was reverted. Someone feel free to do it. If not, I can do it again later today (US, ET). Thanks, hmwithτ 13:19, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I believe we should use their first names as there are people with the same last name and on most tv shows articles use the "First name, Last name" format.66.231.37.89 (talk) 01:05, 4 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS is not a valid objection. Just because other articles do something incorrectly does not mean that this one should (if you point me to any those articles, I'd be glad to correct them too). The applicable guideline is WP:SURNAME, where it says, "After the initial mention of any name, the person should be referred to by surname only." hmwithτ 00:11, 8 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
It should definitely be the first names. Look at other articles (Celebrity Big Brother UK, Surreal Life: Fame Games, etc) with celebrities. THey're not referred to on the show as "H. Pratt" or "Dickenson"; they're Heidi and Janice. It should be what the show does. Rafe34 (talk) 23:44, 9 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Once again, Heidi and Spencer

edit

So E! News is now reporting that Heidi and Spencer are attempting to back onto tonight's show, and finish the competition. How should this be indicated on the chart, and still recognize that they quit the competition on Day 4; now that the chart has been condensed to Days 1-6, instead of each individual day. Gage (talk) 17:30, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

I think we should wait until they show it on TV. But even when they do, I still feel that the condensed chart works much better. Like it doesn't make sense to have No Eliminations labelled on Day 3, and having each day just looks sloppy. Look at charts for shows like Big Brother. It's still labelled week by week. I condensed the chart based on what it said on the website (it gave the days in which the eliminations will be).

I agree and understand, but when there is information like what I mentioned above, then that should be represented as best as possible. In comparison to the UK show articles, they all have results for each day, instead of a set of days. I think once the chart starts to fill out more, then it will begin to look more professional. So until then, I think listing each day would be the best way of including things that require only one day, rather than one week. Gage (talk) 21:16, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Why not list a good summary for each day as well? --Cooly123 (talk) 20:45, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

True, but look at the season 8 table to the UK version. They don't have Days 1-10 listed because there were no eliminations. It then has each day listed, but each day does have an elimination. Doesn't it just make sense to have the eliminations labelled? Otherwise we would have to be "No Elimination" under each day to be fully apt.
Then I would say remove Day 3 from our chart. I assumed the competition began on Day 12, but if the fact that there was no elimination the eleven previous days, then that should be reflected in our chart as well. Gage (talk) 22:05, 3 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Heidi and Spencer fate will be decided by the constants, so we will have to wait till Thursday to see.

I believe that we should wait until Day 12 for the chart type to be decided and keep the one we have. 66.231.37.89 (talk) 01:02, 4 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
That makes absolutely no sense. They are not holding their first elimination on Day 12. Gage (talk) 01:24, 4 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Camp Leader

edit

Should we add another color to the table about the current camp leader per week? or should we just do it like TOP CHEF's Quickfire Challenge winner(s)(see top chef article to see what i mean) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.49.84.207 (talk) 05:09, 9 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Trials table huge

edit

There's no need to have each person on their own line. I'm not sure who reverted this back without any discussion, which should be done, per WP:BRD. On a side note, non-proper nouns should not be capitalized, per WP:MOS. hmwithτ 13:45, 12 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Days?

edit

This needs clearer statements, the show keeps going back and forth on the dates. Yesterdays show June 11, 2009 should of been day 13 in the jungle and Angela left on day 6.(france on day 8 as suggested by the show) and Heidi/Spencer quit/withdraw on somewhere from day 6-9. --Cooly123 (talk) 22:04, 12 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

If Klass had not said that the most recent episode was Day 11, I wouldn't have changed it. Gage (talk) 00:46, 13 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Although Klass did state that on that episode, we should go by what was stated on episode 1. It is my understanding that she didn't know the date, going only by the episode number it was. --Cooly123 (talk) 18:37, 16 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Even tonight's show was stated as 'Day 16' which aligns with the chart days we currently have. It is not essential to list the days in which they participated before the competition even began, if they continue to refer to the days by how they are currently listed on the article, then it should be left that way. Gage (talk) 01:51, 17 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

How about put the date the show airs/date they say on the show in the charts? Angela day evicted 4/6 Daniel day evicted 11/13 Janice and Holly evicted 18/20

the last day of the show officially day 26 by the way. The way Janice was talking in her eviction interview, it seems she was there longer.

Any news on this show being renewed? Even with its somewhat low ratings NBC must be happy.

The chart has too many sub-catagories many some can be combinded? --Cooly123 (talk) 19:16, 23 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Patti stated in her exit interview she lasted 25 days, again making todays episode (June 23, 2009) day 25 and tommorrow the final day 26. --Cooly123 (talk) 01:27, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

The competition days are as they currently appear. Lasting 25 days does not indicate the day by which the show is currently on, which the hosts have constantly indicated according to the current chart. Gage (talk) 03:54, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Again on last nights finale, both John and Torrie said they been there 25 days (as of June 23). Also did any one catch Myleene say see you nexr year, so can a series 2 (oe 3 officislly) be assumed? --Cooly123 (talk) 13:24, 25 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Again on the finale, both John and Torrie said they been there 25 days (as of June 23)for a total of 26 days . Also did any one catch Myleene say see you nexr year, so can a series 2 (officially 3rd ) be assumed? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cooly123 (talkcontribs) 19:59, 17 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Pictures

edit

The pictures in the leadership section really add to the article. Do you think it would be possible to put picutres of all the celebrities in the cast chart towards the top? Rafe34 (talk) 20:59, 16 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

The only other contestants who have pictures are Heidi, Spencer, Sanjaya, Torrie and Stephen. Six other contestants don't. So, I would oppose that only because it would be largely incomplete. Gage (talk) 01:47, 17 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
I disagree with using the pictures at all. They're C-list celebrities, not U.S. presidents. I think we should change the whole format for the camp leaders section. -- Spyke1077 (talk) 06:36, 18 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Being C-list celebrities is completely irrelevent. The format used now is perfectly fine. Gage (talk) 06:57, 18 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Stephen Baldwin

edit

I would suggest waiting until the show on Monday, before adding that Baldwin has in fact quit the show. I'm not refuting the sources, but after the entire ordeal with Heidi and Spencer, I think waiting would be the best option. Gage (talk) 13:01, 20 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

the table

edit

WE need to sort the table out.. It's very confusing.. e.g. it will say 'nominated' then next to that it will say 'evicted (day 22)'. That is very confusingas it makes it seem that on the day of the nomination that contestant was safe but on the next day he/she was evicted. look at the american idol chart. When a contestant get elimination it will say 'elim' and the rest of the row will be filled with a null colour. WE need to work with more simplicity. It is far too complicated. 92.3.174.44 (talk) 09:36, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

The table format is fine as it currently stands. Gage (talk) 10:49, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
Actually, the table format as it currently stands presents immense problems in regard to the use of background colors and darkness thereof for visually impaired, colorblind and those with contrast problems. I can't read the better part of the Trials tables without highlighting the text. I haven't looked at the other pages connected with this show, but if they are similar, they need to be reworked to make them legible for all users. Wildhartlivie (talk) 22:52, 24 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

the table might be great if the person who thinks its great spiffed up the article so that we had a better understanding of the material by the time we got to all the data...Zaphraud (talk) 22:37, 24 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Digital Spy article

edit

Worth Mentioning somewhere in article http://www.digitalspy.com/celebrity/a162638/celebrity-hosts-pick-season-two-contestants.html

--Cooly123 (talk) 20:36, 30 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Completely worthless information. Gage (talk) 01:41, 2 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

what a mess

edit

What's this show even about? reading this article gives me no real feel of what watching it is like. Its as useless a description of the experience as perhaps, trying to imagine enjoying a baseball game by reading stats on baseball cards!

Also, someone needs to homogenize Heidi's name so its at least consistent within the article, if not on the site itself. Zaphraud (talk) 22:34, 24 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

When you re-structure a page... At least make sure it doesn't have bad links...

edit

The links on the right table are broken and probably refer to a previous version of the page. --67.165.178.74 (talk) 03:06, 9 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
