iPad Air 3, or iPad Air (2019)?
editShould this really be called the iPad Air 3? It seems kind of seperate to the first two. iPad Air (2019) makes much more sense. Ryanfanboy (talk) 04:25, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
- Apple called the second-generation iPad Air the "iPad Air 2", as per this archived version of its home page, but they're calling the current one just "iPad Air", as per its home page. So "iPad Air (2019" would make sense here. Guy Harris (talk) 04:57, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
- True, but Apple also calls the entry-level budget iPad simply “iPad” or “iPad (6th Generation).” Likewise with the 2019 iPad Air, the official denomination is “iPad Air (3rd Generation),” or just “iPad Air” for short. See the Apple Store’s Accessories page (expand “iPad Compatibility,” or wait a second for it to expand on its own). The same goes for “iPad Mini (5th Generation) —Zecanard (talk) 15:21, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
- And the page for the current entry-level iPad is iPad (2018), which speaks nowhere of an "iPad 6". Guy Harris (talk) 16:16, 20 March 2019 (UTC)

IPad Air (2019) → IPad Air (3rd generation) – In order to fit in with the rest of the articles; to comply with the official name; and because the yearly designation doesn't provide more recognisability. - Support, this is overdue. The iPad Air 2 will alway be called iPad Air 2, and there's no point in changing the 3rd generation to a year-oriented name - just idiosyncratic and confusing. 2003:C8:2743:D8DD:80C8:FAF0:6A97:66A (talk) 12:01, 8 May 2021 (UTC)
