Nominator: My love is love
I'll be happy to review this article. I've worked with you before, MLIL, and I know how thorough and well-written your articles can be. Could you do me a favor though? Before I begin this review, could you double-check to see if there are any close paraphrasing issues? (You know how picky I am about that.) Once you've looked through, if you feel there aren't any such issues (or if you pre-correct them), let me know and I'll start the review in earnest. Does that work for you? – Quadell (talk) 19:03, 24 October 2013 (UTC)
My love is love, it has been a week since I discussed the review, above. In the meantime, I have checked for close paraphrasing issues in just the "background" section, and I have already found some problems. The sentence supported by reference #3 reuses the phrases "strictly for the stage" and "sensual, aggressive alter ego" directly from the source, but these should be reworded. A sentence supported by reference #6 reuses "rehearsing and trying to put the set list together" directly from the source. In a more minor case, in reference #7 Beyoncé says "I can make the transition from Beyoncé to Sasha Fierce really fast", and the article talks about making the transition "really fast", a less encyclopedic phrase that shouldn't be copied from the source.
Given these close-paraphrasing problems in just the first section, and considering the systemic close-paraphrasing problems I found in the Heat (perfume) article which you also nominated, I am going to tag the article with {{Close paraphrasing}} and close this GA nomination as "not passing". If you go through the article and thoroughly rewrite all phrases copied from sources (and not just change a word or two, but actually rewrite in your own words), then feel free to renominate the article for GA status. If that happens, I think it will be a strong candidate: it's thorough, well-organized, and sourced throughout. But the CP issues are too important and widespread to continue this review at this time. – Quadell (talk) 15:17, 31 October 2013 (UTC)

Requested move 29 January 2023
edit- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. The result of the move request was: moved. Consensus to move per WP:PRECISION; the current title is ambiguous. (non-admin closure) BilledMammal (talk) 14:22, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
I Am... World Tour → I Am... (Beyoncé tour) – There are multiple albums by multiple artists called I Am which could be easily confused as being the subject of this tour. For example, I Am Tour (Leona Lewis). The only differentiator between Beyonce's and Leona's tours is the elipses. The word "world" has been added to Beyonce's tour even though the tour poster says the tour is called I Am... Tour. Either way, easily confused and not obvious which is a primary topic. I'm not sure we should assume that Beyonce's the primary topic just because of her profile and the fact the tour was worldwide. >> Lil-unique1 (talk) — 20:03, 29 January 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. echidnaLives - talk - edits 22:46, 6 February 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose. After a basic Google search (I Am Tour vs I Am World Tour; ellipses are irrelevant for Google searches), it seems that the current title is OK because of the lack of relevant links using the former name. (CC) Tbhotch™ 05:15, 30 January 2023 (UTC)

Also, as per her official website back in 2009, which states: "This spring, Beyoncé is set to embark on her “I AM…" world tour. “I AM...” will mark the artist's first full-length concert tour since 2007's sold-out "The Beyoncé Experience"". — Status (talk · contribs) 16:15, 7 February 2023 (UTC)

- Cool, but the common name is still the current title. You cannot use common name at covenience and we don't follow official names. (CC) Tbhotch™ 18:28, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
- It is the common name based on what exactly? A live album/concert film aired on ABC as a Thanksgiving special was named I Am... World Tour (album), so a lot of the results in your comment above are talking about that, not the tour in itself. I have provided several reliable reputable sources calling the tour simply "I Am..." (including the singer's own website). Here's a few more: Variety, Belfest Telegraph, Billboard (again), Forbes (this one doesn't include the ellipses, but also doesn't say "I Am... World Tour"; it says "I Am tour".) I would compare this situation to The MDNA Tour and MDNA World Tour (album) where the tour itself and the concert footage share a different, but similar name. — Status (talk · contribs) 12:26, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
- Status, You merely listed three sources, including Beyoncé's website (as if a primary sources had more relevance that secondary sources). You can't claim you added "several" sources and then start with a "I-can-get-several-more" game because we both know you will not win that game. Please, focus on Wikipedia's policies and guidelines instead of playing with fallacies and gaslighting opinions. (CC) Tbhotch™ 14:39, 10 February 2023 (UTC)
- You stated in your original comment "it seems that the current title is OK because of the lack of relevant links using the former name", so I simply provided various examples of such links. I don't know where all this hostility is coming from and frankly I'm disappointed. Instead of accusing me of "gaslighting", maybe you should instead respond to my actual comments, including the one about the concert film. This source (coming from the news link you just provided) refers to the "long-form music video" (not the tour), while this one actually calls it I Am...: "notably Beyoncé’s costumes for her 2009 “I Am…” world tour". — Status (talk · contribs) 14:59, 10 February 2023 (UTC)

At the request of Status, here is the reason why the OP nomination is erroneous. It also includes an explanation about what I mean when I only read gaslights and fallacies in the opinions provided by the support !votes. I decided to post it elsewhere to not dominate the whole discussion. Labeling my argument as hostile is just a baseless opinion. I, on the other hand, indicate why "I Am... World Tour" satisfies all the five goals created for article titles, while "I Am... (Beyoncé tour)" satisfies both a minority's viewpoint and an antiquated understanding of the official title. Remember when B'Day was moved to B'Day (Beyoncé album) and it was not helpful for the readers? This proposal is asking for the same. (CC) Tbhotch™ 05:28, 11 February 2023 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: not moved. No support for overturning the previous move for which there was consensus that the original title was too ambiguous (closed by non-admin page mover) Polyamorph (talk) 18:48, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
I Am... (Beyoncé tour) → I Am... World Tour – This request is to restore the former name of the page. The previous move was closed under a quintaessential example of why supervoting is inappropriate and why Wikipedia is built upon consensus and not a polling democracy. The argument provided by the closer, @BilledMammal:, reads as follows: Consensus to move per WP:PRECISION; the current title is ambiguous. Ambiguity was never a reason provided for the move by itself; the argument was "There are multiple albums by multiple artists called I Am which could be easily confused as being the subject of this tour", which is not a valid argument to move a page. The tour is not a subsection of an album to argue such thing. Furthermore, being ambiguous is not a reason to move pages mainly because the titling criteria is not a set of imposed rules. The closing didn't address the arguments provided by either side and it never explained where the consensus arised. Additionally, it was never demonstrated that the official name is the WP:COMMONAME, why we should follow an WP:OFFICIALNAME, why WP:SMALLDETAILS is not applicable, why WP:NATURAL is not applicable, and since the page was moved and the redirects corrected, exactly where is the ambiguity in the title, since the Lewis tour has not improved its views caused by the alleged ambiguity. - I recall it always being referred to by people as the “I Am tour”, not “I Am world tour”, but that’s anecdotal on my part SecretName101 (talk) 07:02, 29 April 2024 (UTC)
- Comment from previous closer: The argument the nominator quotes is an argument that the title was ambiguous, which while not an explicit invocation of WP:PRECISE is an implicit one; when editors make arguments that are aligned with policy we should interpret it as invoking policy even if they fail to do so, per WP:NOTBURO. These arguments were convincing to the involved editors, as four supported the move compared to just one opposing; considering that strength of argument was at worst equal, this was sufficient to establish a consensus.
- I have no opinion on this move, and am relisting to invite additional participation; I will leave the close to a different editor, given that I closed the last one. BilledMammal (talk) 02:51, 13 May 2024 (UTC)
