"Immaculate" is an adjective
edit"Immaculate" does not mean the Immaculate Conception, any more than "United" means United States. Nor does "Immaculate" mean Militia Immaculatae, which is Latin for the Militia/Army/Military Group of the Immaculata, Latin for "the Immaculate One/Woman", a description of the Blessed Virgin Mary, given that title because of her Immaculate Conception.
To save this page, I think it is necessary to move it to Immaculata (disambiguation). The zoological links given are also associated with "immaculata", not with "immaculate". Esoglou (talk) 20:14, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: Move to Immaculata (disambiguation). There's a clear consensus that "Immaculata", not "Immaculate", is the true subject here. There is less agreement on whether it the base name "Immaculata" should be the location of the dab page or remain a redirect to Immaculate Conception. As such, the status quo prevails for that issue, and the dab page will go to Immaculata (disambiguation) for now. Cúchullain t/c 16:23, 13 June 2014 (UTC)
Immaculate (disambiguation) → Immaculata – As explained above, this page is about articles that contain the word "immaculata", not the word "immaculate" Esoglou (talk) 20:22, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- Support the current title appears to be a typo. In ictu oculi (talk) 23:18, 3 June 2014 (UTC)
- Support, clearly the topic of the page. bd2412 T 23:49, 5 June 2014 (UTC)
- Comment FYI, there's also a move request at Talk:Immacolata -- 65.94.171.126 (talk) 06:44, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
- Comment. Immaculata currently redirects to Immaculate Conception. Due to this move establishing a new primary topic for the term "Immaculata", I do not know if this has been considered, or even noticed, by the others in this discussion. (Pinging In ictu oculi, BD2412, and nominator Esoglou to ensure they have noticed this fact.) Otherwise, this page should be moved to Immaculata (disambiguation) (which, for some reason, redirected to Immaculate Conception (disambiguation); I fixed that issue, and made other various fixes.) This was something I intended to do immediately after moving this page and that, when the move proved impossible, I believed would necessarily be attended to when/if the move was made. You have kindly attended to it already.I think it is right to ping also for their input User:Anthony Appleyard, who created this page as recently as 14:44, 3 June 2014, and User:Zeus, who immediately afterwards made some slight adjustments. Esoglou (talk) 16:04, 6 June 2014 (UTC)- Sorry. I missed the point. Yes, the move should be to "Immaculata (disambiguation)". That was what I tried to move the page to. I must have made the mistake when I had to go the long way round to have it changed. Esoglou (talk) 16:09, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
- Why? Where was the RM or discussion that decided this? In ictu oculi (talk) 04:31, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for the ping. Things seem to be in a rather confused state. I would think that the Italian word should be kept separate In ictu oculi (talk) 17:07, 6 June 2014 (UTC)
- Support only to Immaculata (disambiguation) Red Slash 23:58, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
- Why, would would anyone typing in the Italian phrase "immaculata" want to go to "immaculate conception" rather than the dab page which is this? In ictu oculi (talk) 04:31, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
- Because, I presume, they would be seeking the Immaculata, the immaculately conceived one, rather than any of the animals that have immaculata as part of their zoological name. "Immaculata" is a Latin word, not Italian. I suppose too that anyone typing in the Italian word "Immacolata" would also be looking for the Immaculately Conceived One, rather than for a character in a fantasy novel.
