It says here that the Imperial Guard in Warhammer 40k is an imperial guard. It's a bit of a misnomer, the force that protect the Emperor is actually the Adeptes Custodes. I'll change it if no one has any doubts. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.27.48.230 (talk) 01:37, 22 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's called the Imperial Guard but it is really the reorganized Imperial Armyas per the Imperial Guard Codex, 5th Edition.--Degen Earthfast (talk) 22:05, 20 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Empires?

edit

The title of empire given to the african states of Oyo and Dahomey could be disputed, because these states never were recognized by the European diplomacy. The United Kingdom, as the name says, is a kingdom, not an empire: it's true that the kings of Great Britain between 1857 and 1947 also were emperors of India, however the household regiments pertain to the United Kingdom not to India. Moreover: is the Pope an emperor? Finally, modern Greece never claimed to be an Empire. Evidently we should decide a criteria to identify an empire.
