- Nice work. I added the partial list in the entry. Hope, we can add more.--NAHID 19:33, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Reorganization
editI'm proposing to change the section breaks from years to decades: 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. The individual years will be retained as bullt points. This is because the article currently has too many section breaks. Unless there are any objection, I'll make this change in a few days. Arman (Talk) 02:25, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- Agreed. That would be great. Too many section can create vast mess to article and readers may loose his/er patient.--NAHID 07:47, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
- I agrre, we want to complete the list. It is better to cite from the government source, like the booklet Swadhinata Padak. --Librarianpmolib (talk) 04:26, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Language problem
editThis is the English Wikipedia, and the names has to be in English. Please, turn the names in Bangla into the language of this version of Wikipedia (or, remove those to the Bangla Wikipedia). Aditya(talk • contribs) 17:36, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
- I guess I am going to remove all information that remains solely in a non-English language. Aditya(talk • contribs) 08:50, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Redlinks
editThanks to everyone who contributed to make the list complete. Let's try to gradually remove the redlinks with new articles. If we can do that we have a strong Featured list candidate in hand. Arman (Talk) 02:03, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Need help to get more info on award winners
editDear all, I'm trying to create articles on all award recepients starting from 1977. Can anyone please provide me some basic information on the following people based on which at least a stub article can be created?
- Habildar Mostak Ahmad (Awardee 1977)
- Dr. Mazharul Haque (Awardee 1978)
- Dr. Shah Muhammad Hasanuzzaman (Awardee 1978)
- Trying look up stuff. So far no luck. BTW, while you are at it, check out the spelling of the names. There could be serious errors there. Aditya(talk • contribs) 20:47, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- The GOB cabinet division website now hosts brief profiles of all award winners since 1980. I hope they will extend it back 3 years to make the list complete. Arman (Talk) 01:53, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Article name
editI think the article should be named Independence Award. Here is a govt. official website that mentions the award as Independence Award. Rossi101 (talk) 16:20, 5 April 2013 (UTC)Rossi101

Independence Day Award → Independence Award – While the official name of the award remains the “Independence Day Award” it is usually referred to as the “Independence Award”. Wikipedia article titles do not necessarily have to consist of the “official” name for something. Below are a number of independent sources referring to the decoration as the Independence Award:

- @AMomen88 and Andrewa: For consistency the various lists such as List of Independence Day Award recipients (2020–29) need to be retitled too - along with the links to them from the bottom of each of them (which perhaps might be more tidily done as a template?). PamD 10:44, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- Agree. List of Independence Award recipients (2020–29) did not exist and neither did Talk:List of Independence Award recipients (2020–29) so no admin powers were needed and I have just boldly done it. Lots of tidying up to do. Hopefully other wikignomes will see to some of it too. Andrewa (talk) 17:01, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
@Andrewa @PamD: Lot of tidying up to do on the pages that show the recipients of the Independence Award. AMomen88 (talk) 20:15, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
