There's not a king "Edward of Portugal", in portuguese history. I don't know who was Catherine's father, but, if she was daughter of a portuguese king, her father could never be Edward, just because there's no Edwards in portuguese monarchy. There was a Catherine of Braganza, daughter of King John IV of Braganza (XVII cent.), but I'm not sure if this article refers to that person.
