Mosque in Skopje

edit

There are lot of mistakes on various web sites about who built Isak-bey mosque in Skopje. Some sources say it is Isak-bey himself, some Isa-bey (maybe by mistake?) but I used information from bs wikipedia (estimating that Ottoman tradition and history could be better known by users of bs wikipedia. In future I will have to check if I made mistake or not. Comments are welcomed.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 23:17, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

There we mix two person: Isa-beg Ishaković and his father Ishak beg Hranić. Here we have a lot of wrong things. Ishak beg Hranić origin was "There are two main theories about his identity:

Isak Hranić Kosača, the brother of Bosnian nobleman Stjepan Vukčić Kosača, who was sent to the sultan Mehmed II as hostage and guarantee of Kosača's loyalty. After being adopted by Ishak-Beg (hence the surname Ishaković) he was converted into Islam and had by contemporary measures a significant military and political career within the Ottoman Empire.[1] Isak Hranić/Hranušić, taken prisoner when the akinci intruded a holding of the Pavlović noble family (lords of eastern Bosnia, including the župa of Vrhbosna). He proved himself exceptionally able while a prisoner, so the akinci leader freed him (prompted him to leave the property, as well as his title)" . That two theories belonged to Ishak Bey Hranić. Ishak Bey Hranić was adopted by Jigit pasa who was founder of Turahanaoglu family. Ishak bey Hranić was not member of Turahanaoglu family. Ishak Bey Hranić was founder of Isabegzade/Isabegović family — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amisa55 (talkcontribs) 20:40, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Kumbaradži origin

edit

There is also one theory about origin of Isa-beg Isaković that is recently dated and, if I know well, not yet present in historical works. There is a Kumbaradži family in Macedonia that claims they are decedants of Isak-bey and Isa-Beg who had origin from Anadolia during Ottoman Empire. Since this theory is sourced with documents owned by family itself, according to wikipedia SPS rule I am not sure if it should be written in the article. Comments are welcomed.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 23:25, 11 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Kumbaradži origin is based on text on "tarih" at Skopje moschue but that text is fake as text is painted, not engraved — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amisa55 (talkcontribs) 20:44, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

First Bosnian governor

edit

Other sources claim Mehmed Bey Minnetoğlu as the first sanjak-bey of Bosnia.--Zoupan 21:18, 22 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

The first sanjakbey of the Sanjak of Bosnia ≠ the first Ottoman Governor of territory that more or less corresponds to Bosnia. It is necessary to introduce articles about contemporary Ottoman borderland entities for better understanding this issue. I tried to create an article about the Bosnian krajište and I suggest you to read this version of that article to get more clear picture. About 50 years before the Sanjak of Bosnia was captured, the territories of Bosnia captured by Ottomans were part of Skopje Borderland and governed by the governors of the Skopje Ottoman Borderland. The first of them was Pasha Yiğit Bey who temporarily controlled small parts of Bosnia since the end of the 14th century. Some sources therefore present him as the first Ottoman governor of the territory of Bosnia. On the other hand, the first permanent foothold in Bosnia was established when Skopje krajište governor was Ishaković. That is the reason why many sources refer to him as the first governor of the Ottoman Bosnia. Sanjak of Bosnia came much later.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 01:08, 24 September 2017 (UTC)Reply
