Controversy?

edit

I was wondering why no mention of use of Iveco's vehicles as execution vans in China is allowed on this page? Is this page merely a corporate puff piece for the company, or is it part of an encyclopaedia?

Wouldn't it be nice if t you just added this information? There seems to be nothing to indicate that this topic has been avoided, merely neglected. --Larssl (talk) 13:54, 26 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

The page is not a company page. Anyway you just spoke about the norvegian claims without any attention if it was a reasonable claim. I think that it is not legally correct ti report a not verified information, damaging a trade mark on an encyclopaedia.

Above statement about damaging a trade mark after stating it is not a company page Marc would cause me to wounder about a possible COI from editors who dont sign posts and are using IP addresses. BulldozerD11 (talk) 00:26, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ford

edit

Surely some mention should be made of Iveco's connection with Ford's European truck-building operations? --RFBailey 14:03, 30 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

Have to agree that article strangly makes no reference to Ford Origin of Cargo and latter JV before Ford sold out to Iveco other than model title "Iveco Ford Eurocargo". Whole history section looks as if lifted from corporate literature due to advert/PR like text. BulldozerD11 (talk) 00:26, 16 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:IVECO logo.jpg

edit

Image:IVECO logo.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Controversy regarding Iveco LMV's performance in Afganistan

edit

I added this topic here in the English Wikipedia based on the fact that the controversy regards the use of vehicles in Afganistan, which makes it an international case. It is unfortunate that the sources are only in Norwegian however, so please supply any English sources that you may come across. --Larssl (talk) 14:00, 26 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Maybe you have also italian sources. Information has to be double side. Don't you agree? marco —Preceding unsigned comment added by 160.220.151.48 (talk) 10:27, 28 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article Improvements

edit

Hi all. I am going to work on this article as it is lacking in my view. The history is poor, Brands are a miscellaneous and there is nothing on new developments. I am working and reading a lot of references to make a good article. Suggestions?? I already noted down the Ford one here above. Thanks. - Smagliola (talk) 17:44, 30 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

I would note that the claim that "In 1980 Iveco built the first turbo diesel engine for heavy industrial vehicles.[7]" is inaccurate. There have been Turbochargers on heavy duty diesel engines since (at least) the 30's. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbocharger in the section on Trucks) I know this because I have worked on them. (hope this is the right place to note this) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.98.202.103 (talk) 14:08, 9 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

In the main box/header at the right of the article, it states that the company was founded in 1975. It also states that the founder was Giovanni Agnelli. However, he died in 1945. I realize that there is a link (through Fiat trucks) back to Mr. Agnelli, but it's incongruous to have the "founding" of the company be 30 years after the founder's death. Perhaps change the date of founding? Fultie771 (talk) 01:18, 1 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Page split - IVECO and Iveco Group

edit

Hi, I suggest to apply changes on the page since there are several inaccuracies. The main topic is the overlapping between information about IVECO as a brand and Iveco Group as a holding company. IVECO is one of the Iveco Group brands and manufactures light, medium and heavy commercial vehicles. On the other hand, Iveco Group is composed of several brands such as IVECO, FPT Industrial, HEULIEZ to name a few. I alreday created a draft about the Group page, I think we can discuss together to find the proper solution. Gianmaria V (talk) 14:33, 24 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Gianmaria V since you are getting no responses even though it has been several days, you might wish to look at the WP:RFC route, If you choose to do this you have my permission to remove this comment, which adds no value to an RFC discussion. RfC about content review

edit

The page is a mix of contents between IVECO brand and Iveco Group holding company. I suggest to create a new holding page and edit the current page in order to make clear that this is the page of the brand (IVECO). Gianmaria V (talk) 10:30, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply

Support. Proposed change seems likely to clarify matters. See Volkswagen / Volkswagen Group for a prominent precedent. Regulov (talk) 12:45, 7 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
