Pruning of trivia

edit

I removed some trivial entries from this article. Specifically, I removed:

  • trivia about a village name change
  • news of the election of a new head of the Mormon church
  • trivia about a rugby match
  • trivia about a drug charge against an entertainer (Mick Jagger)

None of these events qualify as being of world significance. Fine and good for them to be detailed in articles about each of their subjects but they are not appropriate here, otherwise we are setting the bar for inclusion way too low. The only one I can see an argument being legitimately made for inclusion is about the new head of the Mormon Church but again, I would argue that is not of global significance.

Mandsford reverted my prunings in one rollback with no attached edit comment. I would invite them to make a case for the inclusion of these items here before attempting to re-include them. Oska (talk) 22:41, 3 February 2020 (UTC)Reply

Item about election of Mormon leader restored after some discussion with Mandsford on their talk page. Oska (talk) 00:53, 4 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
