Rubbish article
editThis article is useless, it has no structure, has little to do with its title, is based on outdated and inappropriate research of questionable quality and has a lot of NPV issues.--Hontogaichiban (talk) 02:06, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
Notability
editI have removed the notability tag as the subject speaks for itself - it can be seen from the citations, and from simply living in Japan, taking courses on modern Japanese culture & society, or reading articles devoted to the subject, that this is a very real phenomenon, discussed in numerous media, and relevant and important to modern-day Japanese society. I would also like to note that I had nothing to do with the creation of this article, and am thus not arguing to protect my own work, but acting as an outsider, a third party who judges this well-written and well cited article to have merit. Gender reversal
editCould this article also discuss rural Japanese women taking on foreign husbands? There are some legal differences between whether the Japanese national is a man or woman in marriage law so discussing these intricacies might be helpful. Tyciol (talk) 20:50, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
Title change
editThere are already an article titled International marriage (Japan). The current title, "Japan foreign marriage" does not reflect this article. It should be something like "Foreign bride in Japan" or better "Mail order bride (Japan)". The majority of foreign bride in Japan are Chinese or Korean permanent resident who doesn't fit into the category described in this article. Vapour (talk) 08:55, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Merger proposal
editI propose that this article be merged with Mail-order bride, as it seems more appropiate as a "Japan" subsection of Mail-order bride#Country-specific information. It would also need to be seriously cleaned up. ミーラー強斗武 (StG88ぬ会話) 07:46, 13 June 2016 (UTC)

Japan foreign marriage → Asian migrant brides in Japan – Current name of the page does not properly address the information discussed in the article. To readers it can possibly be confused with the page International marriage (Japan) which is not related to what is discussed in Japan foreign marriage. By moving the page to Asian migrant brides in Japan it will also put it line with related pages like Vietnamese migrant brides in Taiwan which discuss the same phenomenon/initiative. 121.220.59.45 (talk) 02:24, 4 July 2018 (UTC)
- Moved from technical request (permalink). The IP's argument is best suited for RM not Technical request –Ammarpad (talk) 04:43, 4 July 2018 (UTC)
- Support per nom. The proposed title reflects the contents and proper scope of the article. — AjaxSmack 01:30, 8 July 2018 (UTC)
- Support name change. (110.149.136.253 (talk) 07:30, 10 July 2018 (UTC))
- Support - This article has grown since two years ago and can stand on its own with a title change. ミーラー強斗武 (StG88ぬ会話) 16:57, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
