The result of the move request was: move the page back to Japanese civil war, per the discussion below. It appears that there may be grounds for discussing some other disambiguation pages as well, but I do not feel comfortable moving those according to this discussion alone, particularly since the pages were not notified of this discussion. Please feel free to introduce any additional WP:RM discussions that might be warranted. Dekimasuよ! 22:23, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
Japanese Civil War → Japanese civil war – Proposal to revert a recent undiscussed move that change the capitalisation of the title. A technical request to move back was declined, so here we are. Normal policy is for titles to be sentence-case, with limited exceptions such as for proper names. Given that this is (now) a disambiguation page, it is hard to see what exception might apply to the sentence-case rule. Lithopsian (talk) 18:51, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
- Support. I was the who proposed the technical request. The mover, SpanishSnake, was attempting to standardize the title to be consistent with other civil war titles (e.g. American Civil War, Spanish Civil War, Syrian Civil War). This is different is because Japanese civil war is not a proper noun, as no specific conflict is referred to by this name: rather, it describes two different conflicts that were both civil wars pertaining to Japan. —Compassionate727 (T·C) 21:09, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
- Support - not a proper name. -Zanhe (talk) 19:31, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
- Support per nom and the reasons set out by Compassionate727, given this doesn't not refer to a specific war, unlike the other articles noted. Bungle (talk • contribs) 09:22, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
- Comment The move seems to be warranted. Other disambiguation pages should follow this same pattern per Wikipedia:CONSISTENCY. Pages that might need to be moved include:

- Chinese Civil War (disambiguation) is capitalized because it is a disambiguation page with a primary topic, which is the Chinese Civil War. The other two ought to be moved to sentence case along with this one, for the reasons I outlined above. —Compassionate727 (T·C) 14:37, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
