Geography, how active

edit

1) The Czech Republic/Czechoslovakia is not in Eastern Europe but in Central Europe.

2) Jawa began producing motorcycles before Czechoslovakia found itself in "Eastern Europe" (in the communist block.) Therefore I do not understand the relevance of the statement: "the most active East-European manufacturers." for ever bike for ever values —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.21.49.162 (talk) 08:58, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

3) Is it fair to say that Jawa were more active as a factory than MZ?

4) Jawa mopeds now have a fairly poor reputation, due to the difficulty of getting replacement parts, and the high failure rate of the "Tranizmo" unit. This is absolutely not true! You can build a Babetta with new parts (mostly Chinese). It is quiet popular in Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Hungary. The "Tranzimo" unit is so reliable, that people use it in other motorbikes (e.g. Simson), and still in production. I can give only Hungarian sources for that, but only web-shops (advertisement?). --Bmateusz (talk) 18:44, 8 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Jawa MotorsJAWA Moto – Official name is JAWA Moto, official page Jirka.h23 (talk) 12:54, 21 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

Considering that 90% of the article content is about the historical company, perhaps a simple redirect is more appropriate? Especially considering that the longevity of the new company is questionable. — Brianhe (talk) 16:03, 21 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
What do you mean a simple redirect? Jawa leads to an disambiguation page. Would you better support JAWA (company) ?Jirka.h23 (talk) 16:39, 21 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
I mean JAWA Moto, the name of the new company, should redirect to the existing article, which is mostly about the historical company but has a paragraph about the new one. — Brianhe (talk) 16:41, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
But the historical company is not Jawa Motors, but JAWA, do you please understand now? I suggest JAWA Moto or JAWA (company). Thak you for you reply.Jirka.h23 (talk) 21:40, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Oppose to what? JAWA Moto or JAWA (company)? "Jawa Motors" is just nothing. Jirka.h23 (talk) 16:18, 22 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Oppose to either miscapitalization.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 04:03, 23 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
So you disagree only with uppercase letters? Ok, so what would you support Jawa Moto or Jawa (company)? Name Jawa Motors does not exist. Thak you for you reply. Jirka.h23 (talk) 08:18, 23 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
  • Move to Jawa Moto. There is no reason not to use the WP:OFFICIALNAME here, unless and until there's an encyclopedic reason to fork the topic into separate article on the current business entity and what it was before restructuring, which is unlikely. We always prefer natural disambiguation over parenthetical when possible. There aren't any of the WP:CRITERIA that militate against using Jawa Moto. Per MOS:TM and MOS:CAPS, don't emulate stylization from logos and other trademarks, which is all this "JAWA" capitalization is (it's brand-projection emphasis). The name is not an acronym, it's contracted abbreviation of the founder's name.  — SMcCandlish ¢ ≽ʌⱷ҅ʌ≼  06:46, 24 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Ok, i waited for answers one more day. Now i am moving it to 'Jawa Moto' with lowercase. Jirka.h23 (talk) 08:10, 25 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
