Cancellation

edit

According to this source, the show has been canceled again.--Aamin Maritza (talk) 13:24, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Nuts! — Val42 (talk) 17:01, 15 March 2008 (UTC)Reply
Probably just as well. It never got out of second gear. 67.49.8.228 (talk) 22:24, 22 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Alternative ending

edit

There was a mention of an alternative ending, depending on whether the show was to be cancelled or not. Wondering if they would show that ending as well, at some point? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.195.154.224 (talk) 17:14, 26 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Would be interesting if they put that on the second season dvds. Most likely probably wont but I would like to see how could have started if their was a third season.

TO DO,

edit

This article is far from a B rating, it resembles an opinionated essay, whereas an ecyclopeadic article must be neutral and factual. Information and claims need to be cited and the paragraphs/sentences need better structuring. I like the show, and so, presumably, do most people viewing this article, so try not to hype it up and advertise it to potential viewers, this is supposed to be an informative article.--Yungur (talk) 09:08, 28 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

What are some specific examples of what you are referring to? Your statement is far too broad. Tool2Die4 (talk) 12:21, 2 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
It *had* quite a bit of factual information until Matthew Fenton and Will "Sceptre" Noble purged it all quite some time ago. Considering that both Matthew and Sceptre are now "vanished", whatever they purged should be reevaluated and restored accordingly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.188.250.148 (talk) 22:35, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

DVD

edit

Do the complete series DVD include the extras listed in the article in addition to what's listed under season 1 and season 2? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Aresorum (talkcontribs) 22:11, 19 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am wondering the same thing, can anyone respond, and possibly clean up the dvd section (if required). Tydamann (talk) 20:51, 15 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Rip Off

edit

Doesn't this series share many of the themes from Philip K Dick's novel "Dr Bloodmoney." I'm not just talking about the post apocalyptic subject but also the subject of living with a person responsible. The writers may well be aware of this as there is an immense coincidence in that both have military governments based in Cheyenne. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.130.71.73 (talk) 20:38, 2 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

You do realize that Cheyenne is an obvious place to put such a government right. You might as well base a military government in an area where the military works...155.33.168.206 (talk) 15:47, 7 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Wasn't it established in season 2 (or at the end of season 1) that the character of Robert Hawkins, who was only involved with the development of the bomb (or something unrelated to the actual detonation of the rest of them), actually stole the bomb and was hiding it from the one responsible (the guy he was talking to on the cell phone all that time)?--ThePenciler (talk) 05:36, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes. Hawkins infiltrated the bombers and was assigned to deliver a bomb to Columbus; he stole it instead. Isn't this in the article? Does this also parallel Dr Bloodmoney? —Tamfang (talk) 17:09, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

OMG!!! you are so right!!!... wait, doesnt wikipedia rip off something called an encyclopedia that was only marketed by a brit company for a few hundred years? hmmm... well, shut the hell up then you sanctimonious fool. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.1.45.42 (talk) 00:48, 28 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Spoilers!!!

edit

Somebody please clean up this page as it has spoilers in the FIRST paragraph! I am watching season 1 right now (about mid-way through) and did not know that 23 cities were hit with a bomb. I knew multiple cities, but c'mon, don't put this much information in the first paragraph! I was only trying to find out if season 2 was completed and what the rest of the status of the show is... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 163.231.6.69 (talk) 18:41, 17 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

A little tardy, but — this is an encyclopedia and it includes all significant information about a topic, "spoilers" and all. Read entertainment reviews instead. ;-)
Jim Dunning | talk 00:39, 12 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

This is completely retarded that some people insist on posting major spoilers that could be easily avoided in an accurate description of the topic. Does the StarWars article state who are Luke father and sister in the first sentence? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Astator (talkcontribs) 21:52, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

The whole premise of Jericho is that the US was hit by a nuclear attack, and that there were 23 bombs shows the wide scale of the matter. Furthermore, yes, Wikipedia has spoilers. It's an encyclopaedia, you should expect that and behave accordingly. As for Luke and Vader, that's not immediately relevant. -mattbuck (Talk) 22:17, 5 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Any news about a potential Season 3

edit

is there any new news about Jericho Season 3? i hope that someone picks it up and countinues it, maybe they wont place it as the same time as other popular shows. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Superchad (talkcontribs) 16:34, 16 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Having just finished watching the two seasons on DVD I can understand why fans love it but I think there will be major problems getting ratings in any format. This show requires you to watch every show in the order presented more then any network programming outside of soap operas. This is the opposite of every trend going on these days. This is a Bush era show. The series ended with a civil war coming that had Blue State/Red State overtones. Today with the depression and Obama things are all about coming together (at least on the surface).

New Bern War

edit

How is this not in the plot description? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.184.236.87 (talk) 22:44, 20 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

And after all this time, it's still not, but then referenced in the section about the second season. Since the New Bern war was the climax of the first season, it's sort of like writing about Titanic and leaving out the iceburg. 75.201.81.213 (talk) 02:39, 8 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

dates

edit

Is the date of the attack never mentioned explicitly? I have the vague impression of having heard it called "the November event" or the like, and am a bit surprised not to see a date in the article. —Tamfang (talk) 05:29, 13 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

News sources call it the "September attacks" I don't remember hearing a specific date mentioned but I read in one source that somebody calculated from the way time has progressed throughout the show and occasional refrence to dates that the bombs went off on September the 16th. If the attacks are the 16th that would make them occur exactly 10 days after the pilot was aired on CBS on September 6th. The year is also 2006. Michael Kirschner (talk) 14:23, 1 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

TV Guide?

edit

I'm not sure that the TV Guide information is really germane to the article. I'm referring to several comments along the lines of "Reruns moved to Fridays 8pm on March 14" under the heading of Reruns. I didn't want to offend anyone by deleting it, but it should be noted that it is now out of date. 68.88.203.75 (talk) 21:24, 30 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

There is a 3rd TV series with this name

edit

I was watching a promo reel for CBS from 1966, and saw some excerpts from a WW2 drama with the same name. Anybody will to create an article for the show? I would myself, but my specialty is DuMont Network programs, though I do believe this page will need to be moved since with three shows with the same title, it's strange to give one show the "(TV Series)" in it's title when there are three shows with the same name. Netflix revival

edit

I have, a couple of times now (well actually me, and another editor) removed speculative stuff about a Netflix revival. Yeah, it does look like talks are going on, and I for one hope to hell the show comes back. All that said, until there is a resolution, I think it does not belong. We are not a newspaper. Then again, I am, of course, open to other ideas. Thoughts? Dbrodbeck (talk) 00:37, 11 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Reruns on "POP"

edit

The most recent development I've heard (Jan. 2015) is that the new "POP" network (rebranding of the former "TV Guide Network") has signed a deal to rerun the original 2 seasons in the near future. Can someone confirm this and post a link to a source? Of course fans are hitting up POP to encourage them to fund more new episodes but that is just a wish at this point.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 167.83.101.20 (talk) 17:06, 22 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

questionable summary

edit

Geeky Randy nearly doubled the length of the article, with the summary Undoing good faith revisions by a fan. I'm curious about the history, given that this article had never been longer than just before these additions. —Tamfang (talk) 05:16, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

@Tamfang-- What exactly are you curious about? I reverted versions 1174251421 and 1174251554, which were clearly incorrect if you had just read the first sentence of the article: Jericho is an American A reboot is in the works. With Skeet Ulrich reprising his role as Jake Green.post-apocalyptic action drama television series.... In my attempt to correct this, I must've accidentally pasted a duplicate of the desired reverted version, causing the article to be longer than intended. It was an accident, I'll check more closely next time, I was trying to make an edit via the mobile version which I'm not used to. You could've just pointed out the error and asked me to revert it (or reverted it yourself) instead of feeling the need to create a post and call the edit a "questionable summary". Clearly, you don't assume good faith or do much research before calling people out. Luckily, @GünniX was nice enough to locate the duplicates and delete them. Geeky Randy (talk) 02:52, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
I was negligent in not considering the possibility of negligence on your part, but bad faith is not the only alternative; another is, as I believe I implied, that you had a good reason that I did not understand. —Tamfang (talk) 03:23, 3 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
