No association with The Exodus Movement

edit

I dont have privilege to edit the page, but TheExodusMovement.com is not the website associated with this entity and is completely separate. FEC filings show Exodus Movement is part of something called Red Sea Rising PAC and no relation to this initial push for Jews to leave the democratic party. The Exodus Movement wiki page also goes into detail with sources about how this is not attached — Preceding unsigned comment added by StarKB1985 (talkcontribs) 20:04, 1 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

According to The New York Times The Exodus Movement is Jexodus, rebranded [1]. Perhaps the articles should be merged? Now I see there is a dispute about whether they are independent or not, withdrawn suggestion to merge. ☆ Bri (talk) 20:12, 1 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Jexodus = leaving Judaism?

edit

Is "Jexodus" limited to leaving a political party, or does it extend to leaving Judaism or perceived liberalizing core doctrines of Judaism altogether? Hyperbolick (talk) 14:12, 2 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

The donation page says "Jexodus has applied to the IRS for 501(c)(3) status. Donations will be tax-deductible if the IRS approves our application for tax-exempt status. We expect the IRS to approve our application, but we may have to wait several months for an answer. If approved, our tax-exempt status would be retroactive to March 5, 2019. Any donations made after that date would be tax-deductible to the extent allowable on your 2019 tax return. Our attorneys assure us that it is common for a new charity to accept donations while its IRS application is pending."

I don't see how the website relates to this article. Doug Weller talk 17:25, 2 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

(edit conflict) :Ha. A search for Jexodus never again turned up a subpage.[2]. That leads to a mission page: "Jexodus is a non-partisan nonprofit that unites people of good will – regardless of faith, ethnicity, identity, and political affiliation – around the simple, formerly non-controversial idea that Anti-Semitism must never be mainstreamed by the media or by any political party." There's a resolution also.[3] This is a mess, as this article says Jexodus is trying to get Jews to skip parties and the website denies that. {{re|Drmies|| what do you think? StarKB1985 happy about redirecting this to The Exodus movement

edit

And I've used one of his sources there that says: "Jexodus may have gotten the hint on the name. On Thursday, its leaders announced that they were rebranding it “the Exodus Movement,” an initiative of Red Sea Rising, incorporated by Ms. Pipko as a tax-exempt “social welfare” organization. On Wednesday afternoon, the Jexodus.org website was taken down; a new one, TheExodusMovement.com, went live on Thursday." It looks as though someone else has taken over the website. Doug Weller talk 17:55, 2 December 2019 (UTC) It needs a rename to The Exodus Movement though. Doug Weller talk 17:56, 2 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
