I see the link to the movie has him playing the same part in 1954 as in 1957, is this right?

This was "his" role Pernambuco 23:19, 20 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The result of the move request was: Move. Consensus is that this continues to be the subject's common name. Cúchullain t/c 15:51, 31 March 2016 (UTC)Reply

Jiří VoskovecGeorge Voskovec – Far more well known as George Voskovec. Google Books gives 4570 results for "George Voskovec", and only 474 for Jiri. IMDb reveals he was only credited as Jiri 5 times in a career with 86+ credits. The amount of pages that link to the redirect "George Voskovec" is more than a handful, and the "George" redirect is actually viewed more than the Jiri page even though the article is at that title (1302 vs 751). • Oppose from the article: "Although Voskovec lived in three countries and his maternal grandmother was French, he always maintained that "I am a born and bred Czech." ... and he was buried in Prague. In the 1960s when Hollywood was (even) more racist and xenophobic than today anglicized names were more common to allow for xenophobic and racist audiences - and Cold War awkwardness about Slav's. But if we look at sources post 2000 is this xenophobic feeling current in current WP:RS? does not look like it. In ictu oculi (talk) 17:27, 23 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • I know all about how racist Hollywood was/is/will continue to be. It's a sad fact for sure but it doesn't change that he achieved his greatest fame as George. Kal Penn isn't at Kalpen Modi for a reason. Also, I looked it up, and it does look like it. George is still commonly used to this day. Not in books, books still have him at his real name. In ictu oculi (talk) 18:56, 24 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
I just linked books? Nohomersryan (talk) 21:33, 24 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. The nominator has assembled a clear case that "George Voskovec" is how the subject is generally known in English sources. Speculation as to why he chose to use "George" in the US is irrelevant. —  AjaxSmack  02:38, 31 March 2016 (UTC)Reply
