PROD

edit

Please do not remove the proposed deletion until the entry satisfies WP:CORP. So far only local coverage has been provided. If you do remove the PROD please explain how the notability has been met. Thanks.Griswaldo (talk) 15:46, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Added refs to secure notability. Sites in two states is not local.--Jojhutton (talk) 15:53, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
They are in California only, expected to open in Oregon in 2011. Can you please provide a link to the Gunderson story since the Oregonian is an online publication? All I found was this which is a business blog post by Gunderson for the Oregonian. Not exactly the type of quality source one looks for. This is a very small chain of pizza restaurants currently found only in California. I will AfD soon if something better doesn't pop up on the radar.Griswaldo (talk) 16:06, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Actually, the Gunderson story I believe was an AP story, that I cited from The Orgonian, and California is a large state, so its not really local, even without Oregon. As far as links go, I use an online newspaper search called "News Bank". Try there.--Jojhutton (talk) 16:12, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
California is a large state but every business in that state is by no means notable. I'll have a look at that site.Griswaldo (talk) 16:14, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Can you please provide your search results link. I come up blank when I try "John's Incredible Pizza", "Laura Gunderson", and/or the supposed article title at News Bank. Thanks.Griswaldo (talk) 16:17, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, I can't help you there. All citations are properly formatted according to wikipedia guidelines, so I don't know what else I can do for you.--Jojhutton (talk) 16:27, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
You can't help me? You added the citation so clearly you had access to it. Please provide a way for me to verify it. I'm adding a verification needed tag until this is resolved.Griswaldo (talk) 16:36, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I added the citations properly according to WP:Cite. Perhaps if you tried logging into newsbank in order to use its services. I have an account. I use it frequently to double check citations on wikipedia, so if you are going to go around asking for citations on articles, then you should really have a way to check them when they are provided rather, than continuing to demand more proof. In other words, the citations have been provided, its up to you to check them if your really concerned.--Jojhutton (talk) 16:49, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
John all I'm asking for is some help here. Instead you're being evasive which is not helpful at all. I tried searching news bank and got nothing. Maybe I'm not using it right. If that is the case some help would be much nicer than this. Thanks.Griswaldo (talk) 17:00, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'm not trying to be evasive. All I can say is that you have to be logged in. I use it through my local library account on my home computer. This is the article link that I cut and pasted, but I don't know if you will be able to see it.--Jojhutton (talk) 17:08, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Notability

edit

So far I don't see anything other than a blog being verified outside of the state, and as such it is barely announcing that the chain is opening a store in Oregon. The rest of these appear to be the usual local restaurant review / lifestyle type articles. There is an ongoing discussion of how to treat such sources at the relevant guideline's WP:CORP talk page, and elsewhere. Several editors are agreeing that these are not normal sources, and should not be treated as "independent coverage" towards notability in the same way we treat other quality sources. Please do not remove the tag yet.Griswaldo (talk) 18:50, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

See WP:NEWSBLOG, because wiki policy disagrees with your posistion on blogs. Also, you asked for reliable sources and they were provided, in conjunction with wiki policy of WP:RS and WP:Cite. I don't know what else you seem to want here.--Jojhutton (talk) 19:03, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
A reliable source of information is not the same thing as an appropriate source for a notability claim.Griswaldo (talk) 19:55, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
So your disputing that the sources are local papers rather than national papers?--Jojhutton (talk) 20:53, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'm disputing that what is presented clearly meets our notability guidelines.Griswaldo (talk) 21:32, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Every citation is a realiable source per WP:Cite, and WP:RS. Is there something about the current citations that you are not happy with? I don't know what else you want. I added 13 additional reliable sources, but somehow its not enough. I have rewritten parts to make it sound less like an add, and that is still not enough. I have addressed every concern, and have tried to be understanding, yet that too is still not enough.--Jojhutton (talk) 21:41, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
There is no rush here (the PROD is gone and the article is not up for AfD) and your efforts are greatly appreciated. Give me some time to look at these sources please. Thanks.Griswaldo (talk) 21:49, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
The citations are now up to 18, many of the new ones are not restaurant reviews, so I hope that I have addressed the concerns.--Jojhutton (talk) 22:00, 28 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

This article is decidedly an advertisement for the company. The sources provided were not sufficient enough to establish notability (see WP:Routine). The included information was a condensed version of the menu, advertised that the company takes bookings for functions, and included multiple peacock statements. I pruned a lot of stuff out, and as it stands now this article is not much more than a stub. --Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 08:04, 7 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
