editI moved the main page back to John Marshall Slaton because I had already edited the GAGovernors template to reflect his full name. In researching a couple of these gubernatorial entires, I have found knowing the full name as helpful in the initial research so I plan on using the full name if I create additional GA Governor entries Roswell native 03:14, 19 April 2006 (UTC)

John Marshall Slaton → John M. Slaton – Per WP:COMMONNAME. As can be seen from the section above, this article was previously moved to the full name for a reason inconsistent with COMMONNAME. A search of coverage of the governor from the era shows that his middle initial was far more commonly used. --Yaksar (let's chat) 16:04, 15 October 2011 (UTC)
- Support- John Slaton redirects here already, so primary topic. Searches John M. Slaton removing governor/s still are primarily JMS, as attorney, and defendant (primarily in official capacity); others are son (Jr.), which will disambiguate if/when an article is written. Fullname in lead and transcluded persondata box are sufficient, and 'John M. Sl' narrows search field to 3, 'John Marshall S' to 9, so utility is greatly enhanced.
