editThis page has been protected from the constent editing and of intentional addition of misleading information.
1. I would like to make clear that the surname of "Juan de Amezquita" is exactly as stated and not the Basque version "Amezqueta" nor "Amezketa" added twice by User:75.95.245.214.
2. The proven facts are that Juan de Amezquita was Puerto Rican and there is nothing, by which I mean any reliable site, that traces his roots to a Basque ancestry. If the user would have taken the time to read our policy, he/she would realize that is common sense that you can not assume a person's ancestry based on the person's surname alone. Is Henry Darrow (Enrique Tomas Delgado, Jr.) of English descent just because he now uses an English surname? Unless, proof (reliable verifiable source) is provided the "Juan de Amezquita" had Basque ancestors, said additions will be removed.
3. I recommend that User:75.95.245.214 read and learn the definition of the word vandalism before accussing another user, and by this I mean yours truly, of commiting said act. Tony the Marine (talk) 21:59, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
Swordsman
editThe article fails to note that Amezquita was considered one, if not the, best swordsman of Puerto Rico (the word "sword" is only used once, despite being his weapon of choice). This has been mentioned in several sources including this book with the pages addressing it being public. 107.77.216.72 (talk) 22:44, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
