Falsetto
editThe highs by Justin are mostly NOT falsetto. They are at times but most of the time it's just head/mixed voice. Please correct it and make Wikipedia a better place. Here is the proof - https://twitter.com/JustinHawkins/statuses/137165299840581633 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.31.206.57 (talk) 00:37, 9 March 2013 (UTC)
Well, noones changed it so I will. Heck the attributation(15) specifically says NOT falsetto. I quote, from Justin himself "I use head voice for softer high singing but mostly it's high belt. Journalists call it falsetto, but that is mostly incorrect!" Metafis (talk) 21:19, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
Movie
editi read on IMDB that Justin is playing a part in the 2010 movie pyschosis his character is called Josh, trailers that feature justin are also on youtube. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.210.83.157 (talk) 12:06, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Background
edit'Hawkins was born in 1975 in Chertsey, Surrey, England. Growing up in Lowestoft, he studied at Kirkley High School (notably the venue for the second series of Channel 4's Rock School programme; although any reference to The Darkness was conspicuously erased in that series in spite of their having donated thousands of pounds' worth of equipment to the school), he left part-way through his 'A' Levels to study Music Technology at Huddersfield Technical College while living in Sowerby Bridge near Halifax, West Yorkshire. His brother Dan Hawkins is the rhythm guitarist in The Darkness. He suffers from Bipolar Disorder.'
Who suffers from Bipolar Disorder, Dan or Justin? If it is Dan I don't think this sentence belongs here. If it is Justin, the sentence should be written more clearly after the other sentence.
Example: 'His brother Dan Hawkins is the rhythm guitarist in The Darkness. Justin suffers from Bipolar Disorder.'
If that is even the case.
And in conclusion, even if that particular sentence is clarified, the entire paragraph looks quite random. It could use a clean-up.
Lead Guitarist
editIsn't Dan the lead guitarist, not Justin?
um.. i think its more appropriate to say that they are both guitarists for the darkness, as from what ive seen live they both play rythm and lead guitar on specific songs
Justin Hawkins I Think Justin Hawkins Has An Awesome Voice. ~!~ Aubryn ~!~
Wikipedia is meant to be for factual information, not opinions (even if it is true). His vocal ability doesn't even have anything to do with who is the lead guitarist.
On video it was Justin but on the two occasions I saw them live it was Dan that played lead.
Justin plays most lead parts, Dan has the more rhythmic, harmonized solo's. The screaming, all-out single note extravaganzas are Justin. So, what most people would consider 'lead guitar' is definitely Justin's job. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.194.34.208 (talk) 00:28, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Heroin
edit"What about that cocaine problem? Why isn't there anything about that in here?" -- —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 128.223.193.112 (talk • contribs) .
Justin has never had a heroin problem. The Darkness song Givin' Up is not autobiographical but rather based on someone close to the Hawkins. --Hungoverdrawn 15:22, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Eating disorder
editAnything about his eating disorders?
- I don't think I've ever heard anything about him having eating disorders.220.237.23.19 12:05, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Justin has openly admitted in an interview that he used to suffer from bulimia! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.146.173.154 (talk) 18:52, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
"Bashing the Hun"
editI corrected the quote in the interests of accuracy. I also added the surrounding sentence that belongs with the quote, as I feel it is integral to understand he was talking about the intentions / motivations of his song. It's really quite poor that not only was the context removed from the quote, but then he wasn't even quoted accurately.
Also, what does "to bash The Hun" mean? --220.237.128.33 12:13, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Justin has made it repeatedly clear that the quotes featured in The Sun are fabrications. The song is neither racist nor xenophobic in intent, merely harmelessly jingoistic. To suggest that rumours circulate that he is a member of the BNP is completely false, no such rumours exist. That and the barely literate nature of these changes - poor sentence construction, mis-spelling of xenophobia - suggests to me that these edits are tantamount to vandalism. --Hungoverdrawn 14:24, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Good job reverting it. Thanks for explaining it all, too. --220.237.128.33 07:03, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
Comprehension failure!
edit'...although The Darkness equipment to the school...'
lent?
Also, since when was Justin Hawkins a eunuch? is there a source or cite?
I suspect that someone made that up, since a google search for a source reveals nothing. I'll remove that line in a few days unless someone can verify it. --Goldenjm 15:52, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
-Remove it if it’s false but at least correct it if it stays. It’s written as if this were a gossip column. -More gossip: Did I hear a year ago that he was stabbed in the throat outside of a bar? Defiantly not entering that until I see some evidence. Didgepenguin
Goodbye Justin
editI don't think the Darkness will get by without him. Must be a band with Syd Barrett syndrome.
- He's touring with them! When was this written?2.31.164.89 (talk) 19:01, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
Personal life
editIn his personal life section it doesn't mention any about girlfriends, wives, lovers or any women he's been connected with. This is very strange, especially for a rock star! Can people find some info to include? Personally I wouldn't be surprised if he way gay, so perhaps that's why there's no information available about his partners and lovers, if he wants to keep it hushed up. 80.43.41.245 18:25, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
Isn't he married with children? Am sure I've read mention of them in the press (can't be bothered to check now). But being married with kids ain't rock and roll so maybe that's why it's so quiet. Lone Architect 12:40 GMT, 19th December 2006
He lives with his girlfriend, Sue Whitehouse who is the manager of The Darkness. This was revealed in the interview he did with The Sun which can be found here http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006470303,00.html
Justin has been quoted as having said "I have a child". http://loudwire.com/the-darkness-justin-dan-hawkins-recall-struck-by-lightning-flight/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.28.53.8 (talk) 15:07, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
If somebody deems that relevant, then it can be integrated into the article. ViifogTalk 06:15, 20 December 2006 (UTC)
Some Talkshow...
editI forget which one, but it was on one morning. Er, that's not useful, I know. But he was, and he took two of his cat's testicles on it, and was comparing them. I.. don't really think it should be added or searched for, now I've actually said it out loud. *Runs away before he looks weird* But, if anyone DOES want to look for it... well, yeah. I would, but I'm tired and confused. ---- Scar † Contributions † 01:35, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
