Height
editOther sites give the height of this mountain as 6400 m with the lower peak being at 6200 m. Does the 6150 m figure from the map apply to the lower peak? JMiall₰ 20:58, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
- Actually no, it is the higher summit, the lower peak is also called shoulder and according to the map (which is considered to be the best map for Ladakh) it is just 6150m, altitute differs a lot in literature about peaks in Ladakh. --SlartibErtfass der bertige (talk) 11:06, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
According the gps (Garmin etrex) that I laid down on the top of the lower western peak (Kang Yatze II), the height of the Kang Yatze II is 6253 meter. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Janaaa3 (talk • contribs) 11:38, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
Climbing Kang Yatse Peak 2 start at about 2 AM. The glacier is reached at about sunrise. The ascent on the glacier (using crampons and a line) is mostly on solid frozen underground. When descending the sun has may have melted some ice/snow and the underground gets soft. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Janaaa3 (talk • contribs) 11:44, 13 March 2018 (UTC)
