Picture of Prince Lichnowsky
Btw.: This picture is made at a very important historical moment: it shows Prince Lichnowsky on August 4th, 1914 in the Hyde Park in London - at the day when Britain declared war to Germany (see the German wikipedia for it)! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.102.29.138 (talk) 16:03, 25 March 2014 (UTC)

editPeter NYC, FromCzech, the MOS is clear on this, places of birth/death do not go in the brackets following the name as stated in MOS:BIRTHPLACE. I also restored the prior Short Description to be within the 40-character guideline. MB 16:54, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you to MB for the collegial message regarding policy, and apologies to FromCzech for reverts. I got confused between de. and en. MOS, which are quite different in this regard. Given that Lichnowsky's place in history is due primarily to his part in the July Crisis and his pamphlet, should this not be reflected in the Short Description?

- Peter NYC, The SD you added was well over 40 characters (it was 71). Sometimes it is hard to summarize with the size constraint. We could use "German WWI-era ambassador to England (1860-1928)" which is 48 characters. Or propose something else that is no more than 45-50. MB 04:57, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Hi MB,
- The magic words are "1914 July Crisis", because that is what turns on historiographers.
- German UK envoy during 1914 July Crisis (1860-1928)
- German envoy to UK during 1914 July Crisis (1860-1928)
- German envoy to UK during pre-WWI 1914 July Crisis (1860-1928)
- Help would be very much appreciated. == Peter NYC (talk) 05:42, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- Peter NYC, I changed it to the shortest of these. MB 05:47, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
