Award irregularities
editDoes anyone else have a problem with this award ? Reading today's papers and the citation he was under fire at the time. Just what constitutes not in the face of the enemy these days. Sorry just had to spout off !!! --Jim Sweeney (talk) 20:25, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
- It's about what he was doing. Bomb disposal personnel have always been awarded the GC or GM because what they are doing is not actually about being in contact with the enemy. To be awarded the VC you actually have to be in combat at the time, not just doing something while combat is going on around you. It's nothing new. -- Necrothesp (talk) 20:44, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
