edit- I don't know much about your project's assessment crieteria. I agree with the START class. Doesn't the Shakespeare connection pull this school way above average importance, though? AndyJones 12:48, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
I agree - I think it should at least have an importance rating of mid. Plus I've added an infobox.

editThe article states:
- "but the school was refounded by King Edward VI in 1553"
In a book I am listening too, this fact is not supported. The book states that it was named after the King, but that the king had nothing to do with the school.
Someone should fact check this.
Edward VI entrusted the school to the town's corporation, hence they named it after him. He did the same with many other grammar schools, hence many King Edward VIs
EDIT: In the website http://www.kingedwardvi.warwickshire.sch.uk/ , the shakesperes school link at the top says "The upped Guild Room became the town's schoolroom in 1553 when King Edward VI entrusted the former Guild's school to the corperation." As a note, I am a pupil of said school :)

editThere's a useful history of the school here which someone might like to incorporate. AndyJones 17:51, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
I am also a student in the sixth form of this school and know for sure that the school was refounded in 1553
Refounded in 1553
editThe school was definitely refounded in 1553 by King Edward VI as there is a plaque saying this in the school.U6 pebl 16:58, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

- Support. The comma is necessary to show that the school is in Stratford-upon-Avon, rather than Stratford-upon-Avon actually being in the school's name. Jenks24 (talk) 17:15, 16 October 2011 (UTC)
