Japanese manga Kingdom

edit

In the Popular Culture section, the manga Kingdom (manga) is mentioned becuase Lü Buwei is a major character and Lüshi Chunqiu is part of the story. Two thoughts cross my mind: (1) It would be nice to link this to the Lü Buwei article, which goes into more detail about Lü Buwei as a manga character. (2) The paragraph might be rewritten as follows: In the Japanese manga Kingdom, author Yasuhisa Hara reconceives the annals as a project that morphs into a wikipedia-like cultural resource in three steps: (1) a proof-of-concept version is created by Lü himself; (2) using his own coffers, Lü hires several intellects, philosophers and other people to expand the whole; and (3) after the text is released, Lü challenges other people to add or edit them in exchange for rewards. This is significant and intriguing to anyone with an interest in Japanese culture, but such an edit should be made by someone who has read the manga (not me!). Unfounded reference to I Ching (Yi Jing)

edit

I removed the reference to the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching, as there is no equivalence or reference to the hexagrams in the Lüshi Chunqiu, despite chapters 13-20 having 8 sections each. No such reference can be found in any Chinese language sources on the Lüshi Chunqiu either. Jakkeven (talk) 22:00, 16 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Chapter commentary

edit

I intend to make a commentary on a chapter using a source I added. I don't believe it will be controversial, and there may or may not be more source commentaries on it (or other chapters). But I'm not doing double the work before leaving room for objections.FourLights (talk) 00:36, 13 September 2024 (UTC)Reply
