This article stub was created for the L2 interpreted language, and no page yet exists for the L1 language, which is highly similar. These are floating-point mathematical preprocessors for the IBM 650 family of digital computers and were developed in the mid 1950's. Both are discontinued, having been replaced by FORTRAN in 1957. I propose to move this page to L1 and L2 (programming language) and making L1 (programming language) and L2 (programming language) redirect (with possibilities) to the new page. In this way, the pages can be easily un-merged at some future date if that becomes desirable. If no objections are noted below within a reasonable time, I will proceed with the mage move and create the necessary redirects.
