Leader of the Opposition in the SeneddLeader of the Opposition in Wales – Almost all identical articles in the UK, New Zealand, India, Spain, Australia, Ireland use this format rather than referring to the legislature (unless there are two legislative bodies in that one country). It seems Wales would clearly differentiate and fit the style taken elsewhere. Llemiles (talk) 13:31, 6 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Support. I think that "leader of the opposition in Wales" and "Welsh opposition leader" are used more in RS coverage, though there's not necessarily a clear common name. But this move would be good for other WP:CRITERIA too. It's not like we call Drakeford the "First Minister in the Senedd"... Ralbegen (talk) 09:20, 10 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

To be consistent with other opposition leaders articles shouldn’t we make the page title Leader of the Opposition (Wales) ? Ciaran.london (talk) 12:42, 7 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned references in Leader of the Opposition in Wales

edit

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Leader of the Opposition in Wales's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "auto1":

  • From Andrew RT Davies: "Andrew RT Davies appointed leader of Welsh Tories in the Senedd". Nation.Cymru. 2021-01-24. Retrieved 2021-01-24.

  • From Llywydd of the Senedd: "Official record" (PDF). www.assembly.wales. Retrieved 2020-05-24.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 04:53, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

Leader of the Opposition in WalesLeader of the Opposition (Wales) – As per other articles in Category:Opposition leaders Gjs238 (talk) 16:57, 2 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Support – "in Wales" is not consistently part of the actual title, with "in the Senedd" or "in the Welsh Parliament" also used, so for consistency and being more clear the title is at least "Leader of the Opposition" and happens to be in the Senedd (Welsh Parliament) in Wales would make more sense.
