Malcolm Muggeridge
editI took out the statement that these letters were addressed to Malcolm Muggeridge. I've never seen that claim. The back cover of the Harvest Books edition says the book is "in the form of warm, relaxed letters to a close friend". Nothing about Malcolm Muggeridge. And on page 3 of this article, Eric Seddon wrote that Lewis "[invented] his own, less intelligent sparring partner, named Malcolm, as his foil." The article on Malcolm Muggeridge says that Muggeridge married Katherine Dobbs, also called Kathleen or Kitty. The book refers to "Malcolm"'s wife as "Betty".
