term length

edit

In reading some of the biogs I have got confused. What is the term length for this office, and has it changed over time ? Please add that info to this article. John5Russell3Finley (talk) 13:07, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I'm working on all of the governor articles in turn. I'll get to Ohio eventually. Don't worry. --Golbez (talk) 15:24, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

This is the Ohio Rev Code Effective 10 March 1978 (valid as of this day when I found it on Ohio Gov website): Please add it, or maybe I will make a big mess of it. CHAPTER 107: GOVERNOR 107.01 Election - term. The governor shall be elected quadrennially, jointly with the lieutenant governor, and shall hold his office for a term of four years. The term of office of the governor shall commence on the second Monday of January next after his election. John5Russell3Finley (talk) 20:13, 20 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

'no chance of me being able to cut and paste this term length stuff in without making a mess of it, I don't understand some of the formatting, E.g. how to do a color change to blue (the colon after Ohio was blue when I moved the sentance containing the phrase list of governors of Ohio to the other end of the intro, and it would not change using any of the usual tricks. Clearly even if you don't add the info about term length you may find a happier reader if you move the phrase, may be ?? John5Russell3Finley (talk) 15:48, 28 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

I thought the Strickalnd line was a disjunction, of 2007 to present. Where the blank represented the word present. Is there something else going on? §hep¡Talk to me! 20:38, 14 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

edit
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: Split. The list of governors shall remain at this article, while other information is to be spun off to Governor of Ohio as a separate article. (closed by non-admin page mover)Ceso femmuin mbolgaig mbung, mellohi! (Goodbye!) 05:57, 9 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

List of governors of OhioGovernor of Ohio – This article is not just a list of governors of Ohio. It documents Ohio governor qualifications, powers, and succession, as well as other infobox information such as term length, deputy, and salary. Because of the elaboration of this article on the broader topic and for consistency with other names of articles about state governors, I propose changing the name of this article. Support for now. Split later, but that's outside the scope of this discussion. estar8806 (talk) 18:19, 19 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Neutral - Wish we could merge those governor & lieutenant governor pages into the list pages, or have separate pages for all the governors & lieutenant governors. Either way, brings consistency. GoodDay (talk) 20:32, 19 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
Support and split. Note that moving this article without splitting off the list would be inconsistent with the other 22 states that currently have their main governor article and list of governors combined into one - they are all at "List of governors of X". Only states with separate list articles have their main governor article at "Governor of X" RachelTensions (talk) 17:18, 26 October 2024 (UTC)Reply
