Managers
editThe last thing that could go in there is managers I guess. If anyone wants to add this then feel free to. --Sportskido8 1:41 EST, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Might I suggest a name change to "List of New York Yankees seasons"? --haha169 (talk) 18:44, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
Year by year images
editThe following images were removed from the Year by year section as they were floating between the heading table and the data table. Also, IMHO, they were not adding any value to a section where the data table is what a reader is coming to see. — MrDolomite • Talk 16:31, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

editOrphaned references in List of New York Yankees seasons
editI check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of List of New York Yankees seasons's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 23:58, 14 February 2015 (UTC)
Baltimore Orioles Years
editTheir 1901 and 1902 seasons as the Baltimore Orioles should be included here. That is part of their franchise history. Articles on other teams include their histories in previous cities. The article falsely states that their franchise history started in 1903, which is not true.50.136.139.204 (talk) 13:13, 28 April 2016 (UTC)
- Actually, the Yankees themselves consider the team to be a separate franchise from the 1901–02 Orioles. [1] If it was only the team itself that believes this and not third parties, I'd be inclined to agree with you, and the list did contain the Orioles years in the past. However, this is not the case. Baseball-Reference, one of the leading statistical sites, now considers the old Orioles and Yankees to be two separate franchises, as do the authors of multiple baseball encyclopedias. [2] It would seem to be going against the vast majority of reliable sources to include the Orioles years now, and we're supposed to write articles based on what the sources say. If there's no objection from anyone else, I plan on modifying the lead to at least indicate that there is a debate over the team's origins. Also, I don't believe that the Orioles seasons should be included in the table, as most of the sources don't include them. The CBS general reference does, but it appears to be in the minority and may not have been changed since Baseball-Reference split its stats. Giants2008 (Talk) 01:18, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
"Most successful" team edit request
editThe lede talks about how the team was the most successful franchise from the 1920s through 1964. The Yankees have won the most since the mid 1960's as well. I don't think any other team has 7 championships since. This should be reflected. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.6.58.180 (talk) 18:04, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
