Not expansions
editWhy must this list exclude expansions? This could easily be organized thus:
I think it would make the list much more useful. — Frecklefoot | Talk 16:24, Mar 21, 2005 (UTC)
- I agree; But there will be some person that thinks he's "Ants Pants" and wreck it for the both of us. Anyway nice set out, i would have done the same.--121.220.139.235 (talk) 15:07, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Fix'd :)
Major Changes
editUser:61.94.148.87 has made major changes to the Sim article without discussion. This is poor form. He has arbitrally decided that because a game doesn't use the "Sim" prefix, it is not a Sim game. I don't believe this is true and I have reverted the change. --JiFish(Talk/Contrib) June 29, 2005 13:22 (UTC)
Marble Drop
editShould the Maxis-developed puzzle game Marble Drop count as a SimGame? -AndromedaRoach (Talk) 4:54, 17 July 2005 (UTC)
Am i the only ONE?
editAm I the only one who is a apalled by the blatently gay imagery hidden in games like simcopter?!just more liberals trying to impose their "toleracne" on othr peoples children--152.163.100.72 15:41, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- I've never played SimCopter, but what imagery, specifically, are you referring to? How is it hidden? — Frecklefoot | Talk 15:49, July 27, 2005 (UTC)
- SimCopter has a known easter-egg which involves slightly camp polygon textures, there's an entry on it on [1], aparently the developer who put it in there was homosexual and was promptly dismissed for including it in there.
Non-Maxis Sim Games
editpmj. Doesn't it seem odd that this entry covers only Maxis/EA Sim games? While this attitude seems consistent with the original author's intent, I feel that there is place for mention of other groups' products -- at least one link to an external category, eg. Category:City building games. After all, the difference between Caesar and SimCity is surely less than the difference between The Sims and SimCity. pmj 09:20, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
Simcity 3000 World Edition
editHow true is that statement? I actually own a copy of Simcity 3000 Unlimited and I'm in Australia.
Disclaimer
editDue to the debate about which games belong and which don't, I've added the following disclaimer to the "Miscellanous" section: "Several of the games in this section were not developed by Maxis or published by Maxis or Electronic Arts. See the individual articles for more details." I think this works best to separate the official games from the ones nobody can seem to agree on. DT29 10 June 2006
SimBrick
editSimBrick used to be listed, why was it removed? 80.176.249.204 23:52, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Article title
editFirst, I don't understand why this article is titled "List Of The Sims Games" when it in fact includes all games with "Sim" in their name. "List of Sim games" would be more appropriate, which already exists, but redirects here (and there are double redirects). I noticed that list of the sims games already exists, so I moved it to List of The Sims games (capitalized The Sims to reflect proper name).
Second, the capitalization of this article's title does not follow Wikipedia's naming conventions regarding capital letters for articles (see also Wikipedia:Manual of Style (capital letters).
I'll be glad to fix the article titles and redirects. --theSpectator talk 20:46, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
EDIT: I noticed that it was User:ZanessaYay (talk, contribs) who made all the previous moves, as well as reorganizing the list of Sim games. I also noticed that while reorganizing, the user removed some description of a few games, notably the "Miscellaneous" and "Non-Maxis titles." I feel that some of the description is useful in describing those games (e.g. who actually developed or published some of those games). --theSpectator talk 20:55, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
Added some cleanup messages - Turk brown 22:21, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
"Sim games" vs. "The Sims games"
editI want clarify that there is a difference between "Sim games" and "The Sims games."
- "Sim games" refers to all games with "Sim" in their title, which is what the article, list of Sim games, refers to.
- "The Sims games" refers to list of The Sims games, which are games related to The Sims series only, which include expansions and console or other offshoots of The Sims and The Sims 2.
Hence my removal of non-The Sims content in this article and moving it to the Sim list. --theSpectator talk 22:44, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
My recent edits
editA game doesn't need to be listed if there is only one title eg:
'The Sims series'
PC games
- Turk brown 12:32, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- I adjusted the headings so that "The Sims PC games" is the first hierarchy (==), per Wikipedia:Manual of Style (headings). Also, I don't think the headings should be linked, per that same policy, though I left the wikilinks in place because it looks okay.
- I also adjusted the bullets so that it's only one bullet deep; there is no need to have it be two or three bullets. --theSpectator talk 21:07, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
Timeline
editWhy was this removed? I can't see any edit summaries establishing a pretext for this removal. ALTON .ıl 01:02, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hmm, I don't know why it was removed. It's actually pretty convenient and useful. looking through the history, I see that ZanessaYay removed it. I've added it back into the List of Sim games page. The whole thing doesn't need to be on this list, as this list only refers to The Sims-related games. --theSpectator talk 02:49, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
The Sims 2: Castaway
editI saw it on gamespot, and it was a console version of the sims. It should be added to the list. 4.153.244.120 18:54, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, added. --theSpectator talk 19:01, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
Undid a move
editI undid the move from this list articles to "The Sims Technology" because there was no reason in the moving to begin with. The article is a list, and "The Sims Technology" does not describe the list of The Sims-related games. --theSpectator talk 23:40, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Necessary Page?
editAlthough I haven't looked carefully, it appears that everything on this page can be found within the List of Sim games article. Is this page necessary? It seems redundant. 68.228.75.6 05:14, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:The Sims Logo.svg
editImage:The Sims Logo.svg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Sims 3 Seabeds and Snow
editIs this a legitimate title for the series? I did a bit of research and can't find anything for the title. Can someone please cite it if it's real? I also removed the "The Sims 3: Design and High Tech Stuff" and "The Sims 3: Create a Sim" as Stuff Pack titles - Create a Sim is part of the game, not a Stuff Pack, and Design and High Tech Stuff is a version of High End Loft Stuff that was sold in Europe, I believe. I added "The Sims 3: Master Suite Stuff" too.MrSeabody (talk) 21:41, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
Edits
editI edited out three Expansion Packs that I could not find a reliable source for - The Sims 3: Climates, The Sims 3: In the Country (Coming September 2012) and The Sims 3: Theme Parks. It seems that they were added in by the same IP. The Sims 3: In The Country was actually a confirmed fake Expansion about a Year Ago. MrSeabody (talk) 09:15, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
iPod games
editOn my old click-wheel iPod, I had The Sims Pool and The Sims Bowling. How about including those? http://www.eamobile.com/mobile-games/the-sims-pool http://www.eamobile.com/mobile-games/the-sims-bowling Twineball —Preceding undated comment added 02:36, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
