formatting location
edit- for locations outside the USA, the location should be "City, Country" (e.g. "Beijing, China");
- for locations within the USA, location should be noted as "City, State Abbreviation" and then (e.g. "Omaha, NE"; or "Indianapolis, IN").
- country flag should follow for the American Records column, but NOT for the US Open column (all the US Open records, save one--which should have a flag--were set in the USA).
Grammar of Proper names
editTo the over-zealous de-capitalizers of the wiki-world: proper names (e.g. "US Open Record") should be capitalized. In the case of "American Record" and "US Open Record" the "r" in Record should be capitalized, as it is part of the name. Likewise the "O" in "Open". Thank you. (And if you decide to quote the MOS, please note: these aren't common nouns, they're proper nouns.) Hooperswim (talk) 03:55, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
2009 Duel in the Pool results
editI thought USA Swimming said it wouldn't recognize any time swam at this meet as a American record because USA Swimming implemented the suit ban in October and this meet was swam in December. Am I correct? I just want to know so these edits can be reverted.Philipmj24 (talk) 16:03, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Women's 800 Free Relay (short course yards) Record
editHannah Wilson is a Hong Kong national who swam for Cal-Berkeley in this race. It therefore appears incorrect to list this time as an American Record (though it is correct as a US Open record, assuming it has not been bettered since then). - It's not currently listed as the American Record, only as the US Open mark (for both relay records Hannah was/is on). Hooperswim (talk) 21:52, 21 June 2012 (UTC)

table format
editI want to start a discussion about the table format. Any concerns about adapting it to the general format used in the swim record articles? Montell 74 (talk) 08:05, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
