2003-2007
editMore info is already in the The Walt Disney Company article. For instance, Disney doesn't own outright Tokyo Disney or Disney Resort Paris but they do own the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Also the link to CAP doesn't lead to anything related to Disney. (Civil Air Patrol) What does it stand for? Rmhermen 13:01, Sep 24, 2003 (UTC) Actually, hey no longer own the Ducks
In my most recent edit as of 27 May 05, I re-arranged the Parks section in a minor fashion, but removed Tokyo Disney Resort from the list. The article is of a List of assets owned by Disney, and Tokyo Disney Resort is owned by The Oriental Land Company. You could argue the same with Disneyland Resort Paris, but Disney holds a 41% majority stake in Euro Disney SCA who take control of the Resort. They don't hold any form of stake in Tokyo Disney. Just to explain my reasons anyway.--Speedway 18:30, May 27, 2005 (UTC)
In my last several edits, I have updated the Disney assets page with current information. All subsidiaries listed and information on them have been taken from Disney Corporate sites, Disney's Annual Reports and Disney's Annual Fact Book. I can provide further documentation for anything listed on this page should someone need it. Ps1082 19:43, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Rationale for deletion of Reedy Creek as subsidaries of The Walt Disney Company
editPer the Reedy Creek Improvement District website located Here it states "'The District is a public corporation of the State of Florida and is located in Orange and Osceola Counties in central Florida" so clearly it should not be included as subsidaries of The Walt Disney Company. Proposed Merge
editI've suggested that the information in the Disney article be merged into this. The Disney article already has too many lists, and that section just seemed redundant. Player 03 (talk) 20:29, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Friends for change
editI think disney channels friends for change should go under outreach programs. I mean thats what it is, right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.61.107.100 (talk) 20:47, 12 November 2009 (UTC)
Muppet Studios
editDisney bought muppet studios from the Jim Henson company but it does not appear on the list. They till own it don't they? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.72.41.214 (talk) 20:20, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
- There never was such a thing as "Muppet Studios". Disney bought the characters, not the workshop. SpikeJones (talk) 20:34, 26 November 2011 (UTC)
DreamWorks
editThe current DreamWorks studio is not owned by Disney. They are only providing distribution services to DreamWorks productions. So please do not add DreamWorks as being owned by Disney. Spshu (talk) 21:09, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
Marvel Studios
editPlease see Talk:Marvel_Studios#Walt_Disney as to why not to add Marvel Studios as subsidiary of The Walt Disney Studios. Spshu (talk) 21:53, 30 May 2012 (UTC)
It's a Laugh Productions
editI have not found any proof that this company is owned by Disney. I have searched. Just because it makes the shows for the Disney Channel doesn't mean it is owned by Disney. It can be an outside contracted company that is hired to make the shows for Disney. Please stop adding it until a source can be found. Spshu (talk) 14:00, 24 April 2013 (UTC)
- A source was found for this a while back. It is a Disney operation. Spshu (talk) 17:56, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

Disney Digital Network hosts
editI am not sure why any one be adding Disney Digital Network hosts/"youtubers". Disney nor anyone else owns their programs' host or proformers. Spshu (talk) 17:42, 23 May 2018 (UTC)
Proposed merge with List of assets owned by 21st Century Fox
editBecause 21st Century Fox is no longer an independent company, these lists can me merged as appropriate. Best, Barkeep49 (talk) 22:14, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
- That page could be changed to redirect here. But we won't need a separate section for the 21st Century assets since are integrated through existing business units. For example, 20th Century Fox is under Walt Disney Studios; 20th Century TV, FX Networks, Nat Geo are under Walt Disney Television; Hulu share is under DTC. I believe they've all been covered under their correct sections.Starforce13 (talk) 22:25, 20 March 2019 (UTC)
- I see no reason to merge or redirect. The page can continue to exist for posterity's sake since the company did exist at one time. It is also notable that it list corporate entities and divisions that Disney have eliminated (or may eliminate in the future) and a list of the film libraries the company owned, which are not listed on Disney's page.Rogue Commander (talk) 00:59, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose a merge or redirect, per reasons given by Rogue Commander. Aoi (青い) (talk) 01:06, 25 March 2019 (UTC)
- Good point, I agree we don't need to redirect either. Let's keep the page separate for historical referencing. Starforce13 (talk) 15:26, 26 March 2019 (UTC)
I think that we should merge, but also keep separate — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6C40:4400:146C:5035:1624:3B4:73FA (talk) 16:33, 14 April 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose. Not all of 21CF was purchased and the 21CF list would be the snap shot of the company before it was split to Disney and new Fox. Spshu (talk) 18:08, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
RTL2
edit@Claudio Fernag:, regard RTL, while you might be right about Tele5 and ATV2, RTL2 is still partly owned by Disney. Your source WUV states: "Der mit Walt Disney gemeinsam gehaltene Drittelanteil an RTL II] which translates "The third share of RTL II held jointly with Walt Disney". Later the article names the various partners of Kloiber were mentioned: "The numerous media companies that have been or were directly or indirectly Kloiber's partners at TMG over the past five decades read prominently: ... Walt Disney / ABC International Television Inc. (RTL II, 1992-2019)". That has to do with the period of Kloiber's ownership of Tele München Group. So, this is not Disney selling its half of Tele-Munich Television Media Participation LP through which TMG and Disney hold their share of RTL II. So unless you can show the translation is faulty or find another source, RTL II will go back into the article. Spshu (talk) 21:28, 24 June 2020 (UTC)

Under the Walt Disney Studios section, and under the Animation section, at the bottom of the Asset column, it says "20th Century Fox Animation." This needs to be changed to "20th Century Animation" instead of "20th Century Fox Animation" because that's what the name has changed to. 108.246.15.108 (talk) 03:45, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

Also, under the Walt Disney Studios section, and under the 20th Century Studios section, in the Asset column, it says "Fox Digital Studio." This needs to be changed to "20th Digital Studio" instead of "Fox Digital Studio" because that's what the name has changed to. 108.246.15.108 (talk) 03:48, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

Sorry for making so many edit requests, but I just noticed one more small thing that needs to be fixed. Under the Disney Media Networks section, and under the Advertising and Distribution section, at the bottom of the Subsidiary column, it says "20th Century Fox Home Entertainment." This needs to be changed to "20th Century Studios Home Entertainment" instead of "20th Century Fox Home Entertainment" because that's what the name has changed to. 108.246.15.108 (talk) 04:00, 6 August 2020 (UTC)

Steamboat investments are misleading
editI think its misleading to include every Steamboat Ventures investment as owned or part owned by Disney. Many of the listed companies no longer exist, and taking an early stage investment position in a start-up is not the same as the full or partial ownership of ongoing subsidaries or joint ventures listed in other areas. At the very least the list is out of date for 2021. Most of the companies listed on the public website under portfolio are not here and many that are no longer exist.
I'd suggest noting steamboat ventures takes equity positions in startups, but it can't be said that Disney now or ever "owned" these assets outright. A general note would also obviate the need to constantly update the list just to match the publicly available list on Steamboat's own website. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:1700:7C10:E370:151C:D076:B83D:6440 (talk) 21:16, 27 January 2021 (UTC)

Under the "Disney Media and Entertainment Division" section, and under the "International Operations" section, and under the "The Walt Disney Company Latin America" section, at the bottom of the Asset column, it says "Fox Telecolombia." This needs to be changed from "Fox Telecolombia" to "TeleColombia" because it has since been rebranded. And the "C" needs to be capitalized. Just a minor thing that needs to be fixed. TY to whoever fixes this! 108.246.14.103 (talk) 01:23, 30 January 2021 (UTC)
Proposed Lucasfilm addition
editIn 2012, Disney bought Lucasfilm, along with its subsidiaries, for $4 billion. Star Wars is a giant cash cow, so I'm wondering why Marvel has its own section and this doesn't. I did a ctrl+F search, and the only mentions of Lucasfilm are in some tables. I'm proposing a section for Lucasfilm on this page, maybe with subsections about LucasArts or other LF subsidiaries.
