editSnarespenguin, what is your justification for your first edit of this article? I like the smaller font, but your replacement of a few columns with a single "Maintained?" column nullified some of the research time that I and others expended to improve the article, and thus made it less helpful for those of us that refer to it on a recurring basis. -JohnAlbertRigali (talk) 13:35, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
- I changed the page and others like because I was referring to them often and I was getting frustrated with the way the information was presented, often incomplete with superfluous out of date and inaccurate information. I saw that these pages were going to remain in a messy state and thus took the initiative to improve the pages and update the information to be as accurate as possible as well as simple to understand. The pages did not reflect the high standard seen elsewhere on Wikipedia nor did they present the information in a way that could be understood, rather the way they were set out were off putting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Snarespenguin (talk • contribs) 23:28, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
Snarespenguin, after taking some time to "cool down" and research this matter, I discovered that:
- your edit seems to use Comparison of disk encryption software as a model (the title of which I think should be changed back to List of disk encryption software)
- this article had grown in scope from a mere list (such as the aforementioned) to a comparison (cf. Comparison of disc image software and Comparison of disk cloning software)
My concern regarding your edit is moot now, but because your edit nonetheless rendered this article useless to me, I'm contemplating the creation of Comparison of data erasing software using this list's previous table format. -JohnAlbertRigali (talk) 16:45, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
