I don't remember The Nightmare Before Christmas having an overture, and I worked at a movie theatre when it was first released. Trivialist (talk) 01:41, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Judging from this article, the overture seems to have been used for roadshow presentations only (as with many on this list), and it has never been included on DVD or re-releases.

Farewell to Space Battleship Yamato?

I think the poster of that one is confusing the long period of stillness before the White Comet's appearance as an overture. Yes, it did have some faint music similar to the overture from 2001, but it was presented as getting louder as the comet approached. This was preceded by some opening narration, so I don't think this counts as an overture. Also, Watch that scene closely. It looks like a still shot of deep space, but it's not a static scene. There is a tiny faint white dot moving in the background (the approaching white comet). It fades in and out of sight. The original 1977 Space Battleship Yamato movie, however, did have a proper overture, though. 50.242.56.81 (talk) 20:35, 25 August 2015 (UTC)

Too many additions are not films with overtures

Too many newer additions are not films with overtures. They are only movies with tracks on the soundtrack labelled as overture. The opening credit sequence is no overture. Please note what a film overture is. --87.79.193.84 (talk) 16:15, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
