List of foreign CPL players → List of foreign Canadian Premier League players – There is no reason for Canadian Premier League to be abbreviated as CPL. This is not standard or anything; in fact, CPL could mean a variety of things, such as Cambodian Premier League or whatnot. This article is called List of Canadian Premier League stadiums, not List of CPL stadiums, so there is also a consistency issue. Paul Vaurie (talk) 23:08, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
- Support per nom and per consistency with other such named pages which none have abbreviation of league name. --SuperJew (talk) 05:12, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- Support for consistency with the main article. There are multiple sports tournaments with abbreviation CPL, including Caribbean Premier League cricket tournament which has lots of foreign players. So needs to be moved to this non-ambiguous article title. Joseph2302 (talk) 07:58, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- Support as pages related to the league use the name Canadian Premier League, not CPL. Ugogames (talk | contribs) 11:36, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- Support This page's lede and structure appear to be based on similar pages for other leagues; while many examples exist, some include List of foreign MLS players, List of foreign NWSL players, and List of foreign Serie A players. Although some of these page titles feature abbreviations, those only exist for leagues where the abbreviation is synonymous with the full name and a redirect is in place for the abbreviation (e.g., "MLS redirects to "Major League Soccer" and "NWSL" redirects to "National Women's Soccer League"). This situation doesn't apply to "CPL" which takes users to a disambiguation page. I therefore support this proposed name change. I am wordsmyth (talk) 16:37, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
