editWhat is this, the average personal income for the month? —Michael Z. 2006-07-24 06:07 Z
- Average monthly earning for the May 2006 ( Травень 2006) abakharev 07:37, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- Nice list. But keep in mind the "shadowization" of UA economy: these average salaries may be 30-60% higher in reality. I guess we should reflect this fact and search for alternative economic indices (such as consumption, bank activities and so on). Ukrained 09:54, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- The list represents "заробітну плату" = salary = wage. Alex Bakharev has changed the term "salary" to "earnings", but I think, earnings may include not only salary, but also some other types of income, such as dividends, etc. Thus, I'm changing it back to wage=salary. --MapLover 21:44, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- "Employment income", which would include (hourly) wages and (annual) salaries (but not self-employed income)? —Michael Z. 2006-07-24 22:34 Z
- It's written that only staff workers is included; contract workers are not included. I assume, self-employed are not included too. As far as I know, the data on salary are collected from enterprises, which are required by law to report such data to the Statistics Committee. Some enterprises (small? recently created?) are exempt form the reporting requirement, as it imposes additional bureaucratic burden on them.--MapLover 22:16, 25 July 2006 (UTC)

- The problem is that there's no allowing for exchange rates. In 2008, I believe the exchange was 8 UAH to 1 USD. In 2014, it was 28 UAH to 1 USD. Effective wages have dropped. 108.24.151.123 (talk) 18:00, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
Is the 2007 map still serving a reasonable purpose?
editI'm concerned about the use of the salary distribution map being used. Does it, in fact, continue to reflect the current salary distribution amidst the oblasts/territories? If it doesn't, it simply dates the entire article even though the table itself has been updated. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 05:40, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
