Longines Mile → Cantala Stakes – The race has been moved by the Victoria Racing Club from the last day of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival, VRC Stakes day to the first day. Previously the race was called the Emirate Stakes, but it was anticipated that Longines would sponsor the race. That did not come into fruition as Longines declined. The club has reverted the name of the race back to the Cantala Stakes, which is the registered name of the race and used between 1919–1961. Brudder Andrusha (talk) 12:16, 17 October 2016 (UTC)
