"Called" Mercedes...

edit

Can someone explain why she was "called" Mercedes, with an entirely different given name? It was like a nickname or something?? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.179.65.110 (talk) 17:03, 20 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Mercedes Origin

edit

Both listed parents appear to be of some German type, but the daughter's name is SPanish all the way. Explain how this came to be. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.2.61.172 (talk) 14:25, 21 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Not quite. His wife was French and Sephardic. Mercédès is spelled in the French way and Adrienne is French. Emil had also lived in Tanger where there were many Spanish influences. Bever (talk) 05:02, 16 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Correct order of names...

edit

I've changed the order of her names.
Her birth certificate is viewable at http://www5.mercedes-benz.com/en/history/the-lady-with-the-green-eyes_en/
The correct order of names is clearly: "Mercédès Adrienne Ramona Manuela Jellinek"
and not the version in this article - which swapped Ramona and Manuela - "Mercédès Adrienne Manuela Ramona Jellinek"

Neither the article's External link Mercedes-Benz profile of Mercedes Jellinek nor the birth certificate link in the "Correct order of names" section here lead to the relevant pages. Mcljlm (talk) 16:47, 24 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
