this plant is not always purple, but it is sometimes yellow, and this passage is misleading in the fact that it always states it as purple.

There are many references for blue/black/purple berries. Do you have a link for yellow? Meggar 04:54, 23 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
That would be when the berries arn't ripe.

Citation number two is not a citation. It links to a nonscientific website that make the same baseless statement.

And the link was dead, removed. Meggar 03:42, 14 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Anybody ever try to make wine from it? The berries are brimming with yeast of some kind. Ocanter (talk) 22:32, 26 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yep. I just added that detail. Smundy (talk) 22:23, 18 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Confusion with grapes

edit

Why would “Oregon grape” lead to more confusion than “Oregon-grape” or “Oregongrape”? And where is the citation for this strange statement? Darorcilmir (talk) 21:53, 2 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I have to agree with Moxy in this edit summary. You going to help with this Horse Eye's Back? I would like that all to be done but someone has to do it. Invasive Spices (talk) 19:01, 8 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

@Invasive Spices: Thanks for volunteering to help improve Mahonia aquifolium! I knew someone with a better knowledge of plants than I would come along eventually. Horse Eye's Back (talk) 19:14, 8 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
Its not a joke, you seem to be a subject matter expert. I am not, I probably couldn’t even name all the different parts of a plant cell... Look how bad my plant article creations are: Chenopodium formosanum! Not exactly the same standard as your new creations in the same space, right? Also a reminder, we are wikipedia editors not wikipedia writers. All good faith contributions to the project are welcome, it takes all kinds to build an encyclopedia and we ask each editor to contribute however much or little they wish to and we allow editors to use their time as they feel is best.
