Microsoft launch parties
editHold the phone - there may have been 10,000 parties, but only FOUR were official Microsoft parties, and attended by the Bungie team (with Larry Hryb at the NYC one.) Those are notable aside from the others. JAF1970 (talk) 01:49, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:WarthogActionClix.JPG
editThe image File:WarthogActionClix.JPG is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

editShouldn't Game Fuel link to the Mountain Dew page, especially now since it endorses World of Warcraft.76.4.130.103 (talk) 13:45, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
Merging articles
editThis article should be merged with this one. I know when I talked about this in that article's talk page, I had the support of at least four at the time.
I don't think there should be separate articles for the marketing of this or any other video game, so why not merge it back with Halo 3, yea? — Preceding unsigned comment added by TrevelyanL85A2 (talk • contribs) 03:51, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- As evidenced by the awards and critical commentary surrounding the marketing, it's notable and can stand on its own, and there's so much content it would imbalance the main article. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 12:54, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- Why not condense and merge it then? No other video game has had separate articles for marketing, and there have been big names that had major marketing campaings as well. I really think it needs to be merged and condensed. -TrevelyanL85A2 (talk) 15:22, 14 December 2010 (UTC)
- Because "it's notable and can stand on its own, and there's so much content it would imbalance the main article"? WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS (or doesn't exist) isn't a policy-based reason for anything. Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 16:11, 14 December 2010 (UTC)

- Were this Encyclopedia Dramatica, this is where I would put the Why is there an article? template. Perhaps in fifty years there will be renewed interest in the marketing of a specific video game, right? ~ Eidako (talk) 01:28, 4 November 2011 (UTC)
Moving article to Marketing of halo 3
editI suggest moving the article to "Marketing of Halo 3" since its muchclearer. Usually small stuff like this doesn't call for discussion, but since it needs to be done, let's just put our 2 cents.Lucia Black (talk) 07:01, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- How is it much clearer, exactly? Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 13:30, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- for one, it sounds like a incomplete sentence. It might just be me, but the common name format is "subeject" of "series". Like characters of Halo, or Music of Final Fantasy, things like that.Lucia Black (talk) 15:56, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- As a comparison, there are also Development of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and ESRB re-rating of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
- I don't think it is more or less clear than the current title. But changing the name would be more in line with our naming conventions. (Guyinblack25 talk 15:27, 28 November 2011 (UTC))
- For a descriptive title, Marketing of Halo 3 does flow better and it does seem more titles are like that. However, I'm also not going to fight for the change.∞陣内Jinnai 22:38, 28 November 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I can definitely see the advantages for "Marketing of...". However, "Halo 3 marketing" is partly saved by the fact that the "Halo 3" part is now in italics, which sets it more apart to clarify that that's the title, etc. Gary King (talk · scripts) 01:10, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah but because its in italics it looks a little like Halo 3marketing. So anyone oppose?Lucia Black (talk) 06:37, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
- Sounds reasonable to me, primarily for the sake of consistency. (Guyinblack25 talk 14:26, 30 November 2011 (UTC))
