This article may not pass the criteria for notability per WP:CRIME. They do not seem to be of national or international importance and are known for only this event. The crime itself was not "unusual" or constituting a "historical" event by any rational standard. Jason Quinn (talk) 19:06, 21 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

This article purports to be a Criminal Biography. However, the article currently starts with telling the story of the named subject killing two NYPD police officers, for which he is now imprisoned. As such, it is not really a biography about a criminal but a story of a person notable for a single criminal event. The article has actually been written about a supposedly notable the crime concerning the murder of two NYPD detectives during a single criminal event. While shooting death of a single police office is probably not that unusual, the murder of two police officers by a single offender who was able to disarm one and shoot both officers with one of their own weapons is much rarer. This makes it more notable. Whether the article should be named for the offender or the crime is debatable. While the general rule is to write about the event and not the person, the only article is this one, so the current article should be about a person, when it is not. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 08:10, 30 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
