Bias

While I'm sure the Turkish Special Forces are a very professional group of soldiers, the tone of the article is too cheerleaderish. Ng.j 00:00, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

I think Ng.j is right, even though I'm sure they all deserve all the praise, it should be presented in an encyclopedic manner. - Mehmet

"Education & Training, Specifications and Current Role, Maroon Beret's Standard Weaponry includes, Uniforms". We can delete these sections because there is no healthy data about them. Special Forces Championship

"They became first at the World Special Forces Championship 2004 in Germany. They overcame American Delta Forces, German GSG-9, and French GIGN."

Urban legend championship.

I see this was already discussed previously, but there is literally zero evidence of a "Special Forces championship" that was held within germany in 2004, in which highly classified tier 1 units sent in teams to participate.

This seems like a ridicilous attempt of propaganda, considering the source "haberturk" is known for being biased and publishing false news, even aside that the article is quite literally empty with a bunch of nonsense backed up by no evidence.

With some little amounts of research you would know that JSOC will never send troops to participate in public events, as the identities of their members are kept hidden and almost every member is supposed to be operational. For these reason I'm deleting this part, feel free to re-insert it if you have a decent unbiased source.

Wikipedia is not a tool to spread propaganda, I do understand that patriotic individuals may want to boast their soldiers, but please try to be a honest person and glorify your soldiers with ethical ways. Have a good day. TristanHeller (talk) 15:32, 29 August 2024 (UTC)

The link was already reliably sourced; I've reverted your blanking which claimed that that there was no "viable" source. The reference in the article is to a contemporaneous article from Hurriyet in 2004, which is the largest newspaper in Turkey, not to "haberturk" as you seem to be mistaken about. As Hurriyet is a widely used source (arguably a paper of record), if you have evidence that this somehow violates our reliable sourcing policies (note: "bias" is not sufficient to show lack of reliability per policy), please present appropriate diffs to a noticeboard or other appropriate discussion on the source's reliability and evidence to support your claim. You are also reminded that you are required to assume good faith and not cast aspersions about other editors -- accusing other editors without evidence of spreading "propaganda" and being dishonest or unethical is not acceptable behavior here.
