Not what the story is about

We just saw this show last night. It is not about two people who don’t have the courage to meet. It is a split timeline. The Woman is in 1974 (the newspaper she reads states that Nixon has resigned the presidency); he is in a much later time, with his first-generation laptop and microwave. They occupy the same apartment at different times. They had a relationship, as explained through the photo album and opposite fairy tales they are writing, but they didn’t work out.
