ignorant reading
edit"[Sic]" is rarely a good move. Better be quite sure of this little wink to the reader. In the phrase "the deeply-deplored [sic] Princess Charlotte of Wales" "deplored" is merely an equivalent of "the late lamented". The interjection of "[sic]" is irrelevant, cheeky and ignorant. It is the princess's death that is being deplored, not the Princess herself. Too bad this solecism was exposed on Wikiperdia front page (as above).--Wetman (talk) 17:48, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
